I was greated buy Ngoc Anh's sister who was as welcoming and helpful as her sister... everyone in the staff I met was very nice even though they did not all speak english very well. Whenever I go back to Halong, I will go back to that place!

This place redefined the word hostel for us. It is an absolute gem 💎 Since day one we felt like at home - the team is so welcoming and the place is so convenient. We had a great Room with balcony, shower room with toilet - so none of those is shared. The Internet is good and also almost every place (coffee, restaurants and shops) around has internet (just ask for the password) so connectivity is something you don’t need to worry about. The building is new as well as most of the surroundings. It looks like local place to stay as there were not many people understanding English, so you need to prepare your favourite Translate app on your phone. Everything is super convenient and within the walking time of 2 minutes: local food, restaurants, coffees, bars, convenient shops, ATM, hair stylists, park, bank, even phone repair service… If you find a room available in the BBQ Hostel just book it. Our stay was much better than expected - it was perfect! This is the right place to stay!

The BBQ Hostel was a great choice to stay for the weekend. The host was friendly and helpful. The room itself, appears exactly like it did in the photos. The linen was clean, and the washroom appeared hygienic, well cleaned and smelled nice. The hostel is situated walking distance from the museum and the main streets replete with restaurants and cafés and one can use the rooftop for some views as well. While the breakfast was included, I’d have liked to have had a greater choice of options or a menu.
