If you're looking for an all-inclusive resort, go book something else. If you're looking for a private, pristine, and unplugged getaway, this is your place. There was no wifi or A/C, limited service and electricity but we knew that going in. The Kuna Yala people are extremely kind and welcoming. Jonathan was a great contact that arranged everything from accommodations and transportation to tours. There isn't much to do during the day besides napping, tanning, snorkeling, playing volleyball, and reading. It was perfect for us. We intended to stay for five nights but one of our friends fell ill so we requested a last minute arrangement to get back to the mainland. Dayvay made a few quick phone calls and we were out the next morning! They run a tight and very organized ship Rogelo arranged two tours for us which included visits to the sand bar and remaining islands. You won't experience this beauty anywhere else.
I think the island itself is very beautiful and I was grateful to have some time there. I would not recommend staying more than one night as it's very small. Peaceful surroundings. If you do not have the correct mobile carrier you will not be able to communicate with the host. I was supposed to stay 5 nights but stayed 2.
We had the most wonderful stay on this little island! Our pickup experience didn't go exactly as planned, but our drivers were accommodating and we made it to our island in a timely manner. From the moment we stepped on the island, we were blown away by the magnificent beauty, as well as the grace and kindness of the Guna Yala people. The island and water are stunning, with privacy that made us feel like we almost had the island to ourselves at times! The food was delicious - often the catch of the day with rice and a veggie. Neither my husband or I are typically huge seafood people, but we consistently thought the food was very good! We found it easy to buy drinks or water right on the island, as well as rent snorkel gear and get answers to any questions we might have. Our Spanish is certainly not perfect, but the hosts were very gracious and patient with us. The space we rented was rustic, but perfect for what we needed on the beach - a bed, electricity from 5p-12a, sand floors, and a roof over our heads. The bathrooms were close by, well lit, and had flushable toilets, which was a happy surprise! Overall, I could not recommend enough this stay on the San Blas islands. It was an absolutely stunning experience!!!
Highly recommend booking this trip with Jonathan. He was so communicative and organized all of our travel from Panama City to the San Blas Islands. It is very remote and the closest thing you can think of to camping. So be prepared for that. Sand floors and cold showers- we loved this because we are avid campers. The islands are unlike anything, and you will have a great time. The food is all cooked and prepared fresh that day. The chef will even accommodate vegetarian and if you would like to substitute chicken for fish. The Guna Yala are also very nice and welcoming. We will absolutely do this trip again.
The Island is all yours; you can access all the facilities. You are free to walk around the Island any time you would like. This is a medium-sized island with a walk that could take around 20 to 30 minutes. There will be a dedicated trained team of Gunas (natives) that will be there to offer you assistance at all times in case it is needed.
Part of the Island has a small community of Gunas that you can visit to immerse yourself in their culture and learn more about them. You will find them making handmade art, handcraft, the famous handmade embroidery called "molas," and more that you can buy and take home as a souvenir; we also have this available in our lobby and restaurant.
There are many Islands to visit; please let us know if you'd like to make a day tour to other Islands; we can also arrange this for you.
We can arrange all the transportation for you from any place in Panama City, a Hotel, or even the International Airport to the Port in San Blas as we have good deals with one of the best transportation companies in San Blas, and their organization and reliability standards are excellent. We will also arrange the boat to take you from the Port to your Paradise.
Please note that car and boat transportation have an extra fee, and the cabin price does not include transportation.
Please do not hesitate to ask for all price details.
