A very peaceful getaway for the weekend. Really enjoyed taking the dogs on hikes on the property and torch lake. Loved the quietness of the property.

Gary’s place was as described. We enjoyed the peacefulness of being away from everything. Torch lake is beautiful and we recommend going to Dockside for dinner. The house was well stocked. Overall we were happy with our stay.

We stayed at Gary's place from Thursday through Monday. Gary's responsiveness to questions and pre-directions on arrival were outstanding (wishing we could have met him, but schedules didn't align). The home was exactly what we needed to get away from the hustle & bustle of the city. Gary's home was well equipped (although would have loved an air conditioner (AC) in the bedroom, but with a few fans, we were able to redirect the air while sleeping and it worked well. The location was perfect: downtown Alden: Torch lake Beer Co. (Alden Bar) Great Food and Tony (manager) was very informative which was less than a 5 minute drive, Elk Rapids (cute little town) with the best bakery (The Flour Pot) that had outstanding apple fritters and custard filled long johns and a few boutiques that my wife loved was a mere 20 minutes away; Traverse City had many nice boutiques and so many restaurants which is less than 40 minutes. We will definitely visit again and this time explore the property.

Wifi could use improving. House was as advertised and well equipped. We were disappointed in immediate surroundings. Wooded area tore up. The Roosters next door woke us a bit too early. With AC only in main room we often had windows open. The screens were in great shape and we cooled off nicely at night...but The Roosters.... Overall would rent again
