You can even bring up your washing to the cottage! In August 2016, we moved from the beautiful bustle of Seapoint to the peaceful Houw Hoek Valley. The cottage we moved into was full of charm but needed some serious TLC. What started off as a "touch-up" quickly snow-balled into a full renovation! We carefully created a space that we loved and that we lived in for a year. We've recently moved onto a larger property but have left the cottage as is. This means it really is a home away from home, with all the bits and bobs you need. After 2 years of Airbnb-ing the cottage; and the hatchery we built "Orchid House"! Appliances and finishes are of the highest standard, and we guarantee you a comfortable, clean space. More importantly though is the location. Set on a working farm with orchids and mountain views. Watch the seasons change from the perspective of a pear or apple tree...from the snow-white blossom in Spring to the pendulous branches of fruit before harvest! As Elgin is the mountains, it tends to get quite cold in the winters, so we decided to set the tone by adding a beautiful wood-fired fire place for those wintry nights!
