A fun filled, peaceful vacation surrounded by nature. Drift into an amazing, relaxed state sitting on the front deck listening to the water fountains & closeness to nature. Only the mountains & lake in front of you. Spacious 1180 sq. ft., 2 queen bedrooms and sofa bed. 4 prs. snowshoes winter, 2 kayaks, & a canoe on the 6 1/2 mile Reservoir. Hiking & fishing summer & winter. Only two blocks from tourist attractions & conveniences. "Memories Are Made Here." Beautifully and charmingly furnished with inviting elegance with a private stairway and entrance, fun electric fireplaces with adjustable flames, in the dining room/ living room and one in the master bedroom. The entire lower level apartment offers two large bedrooms with queen-size beds on opposite sides of the apartment for privacy, each having sound machines and alarm clocks; and large dining/living room combination with cable TV; Private bathroom having 2 separate entrances – one being right off the master bedroom, with large shower, washer, drier and soaking sink; A full length drape separates the interior of the bathroom to accomodate more private users at once. (the bathroom is supplied with, hair dryer, individual size hair shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, mouth wash and disposable toothbrushes, shaving kits, combs, ear plugs, floss slides, and toothpaste.) Full kitchen with dishwasher, combination k cup and regular coffee machine, 12 complimentary k-cups, (decaf k-cups available upon request at no extra charge) quality cookware, individual packs of sleepy tea, raw and regular sugar and powdered coffee creamer, basic spices and spray cooking oil. Comfortable baseboard heat. Hair dryer, mirrors, flat iron and table board and first aid kit are there for your use. For the best cell phone reception, we will give you the wireless wifi passcode. We have a stash of just about every game for your enjoyment along with 2000, 1000, 500 and 300 piece jigsaw puzzles, with a folding card table and chairs to keep the dining and living room space free. Bronzes adorn the landscape, from the large bronze Chinese Eagle from about 1860, to the bronze girl, by Jesse B Amar with the red rose, who greets the animals as they come from the path, as well as the cupid with a water fountain in the summer and the 3 headed bronze horse. The sunsets are spectacular almost every night, especially in the summer. The view out the front door is magnificent, with verdant mountains and vast reservoir; pools and statuary. Barbara and Richard are wonderful, generous hosts who provided abundantly for our needs. The quality of all the essentials was superior - towels, bedding, kitchen materials, furnishings were all high end. A short walk down a charming woodsy path to the reservoir for swimming, boating (canoe or paddle board), makes it wonderful place for vacation. I could not be more enthusiastic in my endorsing this lovely home away from home. To avoid any surprises or confusion, we send you a WELCOME BOOKLET to make your load lighter with knowing what you do not have to bring and for any warnings and details of use. We also send you an in depth list of area activities in every category, (Banks and Pharmacys) which includes web sites, address and phone numbers, in case you have some extra time on your hand.

If you are thinking about booking Barbara's place...do it! The view from the deck is amazing. Waking up to it puts you in a great mood. The space is filled with everything you could possibly need. Every kitchen utensil you could think of is there for your use. Lots of towels/toiletries in easy reach. A closet full of games - we played an epic Uno game. My room had a sound machine to lull me to sleep. Beds were super comfy. Plenty of seating in the living & dining areas. We watched a mink play in the pond out back & strolled through the woods. There were nice deck chairs that we used to watch the eclipse (lucky us). We didn't get to use half of what they have on hand to make your stay wonderful. A detailed book explained the amenities & the location of items. It also included local sites to visit. Located between Ben & Jerry's and Cold Hollow Cider Mill - perfect! Finally, Barbara was wonderful & communicative. Richard was also great & very handy (there is a story there!) Book it!
Barbara and Richard are great hosts. Their place is so beautiful and the view is amazing. The apartment is clean. They also provided lots of recommendations for food and activities. They have really detailed welcome booklets, it’s very helpful. Highly recommended!!
Wish we'd had more time at this beautiful spot! Barbara couldn't have been more helpful :) Everyone slept great here including my brother on the pull out sofa bed. Super convenient location near Stowe with stunning views of its own! Hope to come back and explore more someday. Felt like a secret hideaway or an entryway to another world 🌈
My wife and I stayed here with our grown son and his girlfriend for a long weekend of skiing and exploring. This rental was a perfect home base for us. The unit is well furnished with antiques from the owners’ antique business, and is very cozy and warm (perfect for a winter ski weekend). The view of the lake from the unit is stunning and we used the snowshoes (provided with the unit) to hike through the snow to the edge of the lake and back. We will most certainly rent here again.
Barbara’s place was perfect! Our family of 4 had a lovely stay. We felt right at home as Barbara has taken care to make sure everything you could need to have a comfortable stay is available. The space is cozy and welcoming. It really feels like you are in a space that is loved. We found the notes about how things work (like lights, alarm clocks, etc) to be super helpful. And oh, that VIEW! It is gorgeous!!! Barbara is super helpful and gracious. Great location to enjoy all that Waterbury, Stowe and the surrounding area has to offer.

Located in the gentle town of Waterbury Center, in-between Waterbury and Stowe, upon arrival to the upper parking lot you will be greeted by a full life antique marble statue, after Antonio Canova, of the 3 graces, Mythological figures of Euphrosyne, Aglaea and Thalia - Circa 1860.

We are used a lot Airbnb for our vacations but this property absolutely outstanding from everything we used before, very private just lake and beautiful mountains surround us, there is no words to describe our experience of our standing there its a MUST SEE! Barbara lives upstairs with separate entrance from other side of the house but we never heard any signs of people upstairs, very quiet place, my husband says “I sleep here like never before so quiet and relaxing, Im really impressed”, my 13 yo daughter asked “can we stay here again for longer next time?”. Barbara very kind and respectful person with nice personality always reachable and responses in second any questions and instructions given so detailed. Recommend everyone")
We have added the use of two kayaks, a canoe and two paddle boards, equipped with life jackets and beach towels for your enjoyment, for use a small walk from the suite.
The property sits just above the Waterbury Center Day use area where there is swimming, paddle boarding and kayak rentals just down the road.
An added attraction during foliage season are boat tours just below on the Waterbury Reservoir.
There is a nice sledding hill to the left of the house and next to the pond in the winter. And in the summer, you can swim off the point for a more private setting, just a short walk from the apartment.
It is not unusual to see a bear, turkeys or deer on the lower property, with the ponds supplying drinking water to wildlife all year round.
Just a 20-minute ride to Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River and Bolton ski areas with spectacular Vermont country scenery along the way. Added bonuses are just minutes away drives to Ben & Jerry’s Factory, antique and eclectic gift stores galore, popular breweries, and world renowned eateries.
We have a note book handy which describes the antique furnishings and bronzes, has instruction manuals on operating the small appliances in the apartment, such as the alarm clock, the fun electric fireplaces and other information on fun things to do in the surrounding areas. You could stay a week and not see it all.

We, Richard and Barbara Woodard, have been in the business of buying, selling, auctioneering and appraising antiques since 1967. We moved to this sweet town of Waterbury Center in 1971 when our first child, Danielle was born, not wanting to raise them in the big city of Burlington, Vt., Lol. We are the enthusiastic owners of Sir Richards Antiques and Fine Art Center on this busy Waterbury Stowe Road , also owning and operating Sir Richards Self Storage business which is housed in between the antique shop and our home. . The enthusiasm for investing in antiques has been very strong over the years, due to their rarity, increased values, and for the pride in holding onto our heritage. We are not new to renting, having rented property since moving here in 1971, and love meeting new folks. We care very much that people enjoy their privacy, feel relaxed and enjoy their stay, always looking for any suggestions. Richard and I also enjoy spending time on this beautiful piece of land and especially enjoy spending time with our family, now including 4 grandchildren.
