Das Old Lathrisk erhält von uns volle Punktzahl. Hier stimmt alles. Die Liebe steckt hier in jedem Detail. Wir halten uns mit Empfehlungen sonst zurück, machen hier aber eine Ausnahme. Den Weg zum Old Lathrisk findet man am besten über Google, nicht mit dem Navi im Auto. Was man zu erst sieht, wenn man ankommt, ist ein Anwesen mit einer Allee uralter Bäume als Zufahrt. Jo schreibt von einem alten Herrenhaus und genau das ist es auch. Es liegt etwas ab vom Schuss, ist aber deshalb so wunderschön natürlich gelegen. Das Frühstück war fantastisch. Frisch zubereitetes Porridge, Kaffee, Tee, Toast und selbst hergestelltes Müsli gab es zur Wunschuhrzeit. Nachhaltigkeit, Regionalität und Bioqualität werden in diesem Haus großgeschrieben. Lecker war es bei einem sehr netten Gespräch mit den Gastgebern über Gott und die Welt und natürlich über Schottland. Zwischen zwei und neun Personen können im Old Lathrisk unterkommen. Leider waren wir auf unserer Rundreise nur für eine Nacht dort. Wir hoffen auf einen weiteren Besuch.

Old Lathrisk is a beautiful house set in an even more beautiful setting. Although I did not stay in the property myself, I booked my parents a stay during a recent visit by them. They spoke in glowing terms about the owners friendliness and helpfulness. My parents breakfasted with the family, and felt very confortable in their presence. There was a real sense of fun and conviviality, helped by the many generations of the family that were present. For porridge fans, my father claims the porridge was the best he has ever tasted. If you are visiting the area, I highly recommend you stay with Jo and Mike - you will not find a better property or more charming hosts.

My wife and I and our four month old stayed with Jo and Mike and their friendly cat Coco for an amazing weekend at their incredible and beautiful home. Jo was very responsive and helpful while making arrangements and went the extra mile for us helping facilitate for the wee one. Our room was beautiful, spacious and clean with a big ensuite bathroom with shower and great use of a shared living room which we ended up having to ourselves. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and Jo and her husband Mike could not have been warmer or more helpful and accommodating. The house, a 16th century baronial home, and its grounds are completely unique and stunning. Mike and Jo gave a fantastic tour and encouraged us to wander and enjoy the garden which we did. A short five minute drive to Falkland this was an incredible place to stay which we'd certainly return to when next visiting the area. Nothing about our stay could possibly be faulted.

Jo's place is amazing! Great little amenities, lots of help on things to do, breakfast was delicious, and it was well situated to lots of great places in the Central Belt. We can't wait to visit again!
