The houseboat is well-maintained and amazingly crafted to meet the needs of a great boat-ride, a cushion-deck to sunbath, an upper deck for better views and food that meets your need for authentic south-indian food. Mr. Crispin is the most hospitable host I have come across in my entirety of global travels. We had one of our friends that had an early flight and Crispin took it upon himself to pick her up from the dockyard at 5:30 in the morning and drive 2 hours to Cochin. We cant thank him enough for that. Additionally, the arrangements on the boat is up-to the mark. With prior notice they arranged prawns and alcohol as well which just added to culinary delight and the experience. Very helpful and humble staff and they stay aboard at night in case you need something. I recommend this listing wholeheartedly.

Crispin is a good host and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the houseboat is old and bathrooms look dirty. There was no hot water through showers/taps. It was a huge let down. Having taken a house boat ride on Alleppy, I felt this was underwhelming and suggest people to go to Alleppy instead of Kumarakom.

The cruise was peaceful, the backwaters very pretty (you just need to look past the floating rubbish), the food simple yet tasty. The stop off at the fish market to pick up some fresh prawns were much appreciated! Crispin and Jain were very friendly and helpful.
