Great place, lovely inspiring art house and super friendly host. I got fresh oranges 🍊, pick-ups by car when needed, good instructions during my stay, nice conversations, relaxing time with great view. Nice walks to the waterfall and the lake. The arty details in the room and in and around the house are amazing. Still didn’t see everything i guess. Thank you very much 🙏🏼

Wow! So amazing, I hung out with Tanakasan a lot and it was like I had a local grandpa for the week. He took me all over, showed me local things, refused my onigiri I tried to get him. We laughed at the bad weather and had conversations with a translator. A memorable week for me in Japan for sure. Deborahsan was most attentive host I’ve had over messenger ever and they helped me out with extra nights multiple times. The surrounding area is stunning. And if you know of to take the trains right only 40 minutes to Kyoto station. Amazing! Thanks so much!

The place is so pleasant and beautiful. I loved the architecture and the surroundings. The location is very centric to most of the amazing spots that Shiga prefecture has. So, don't hesitate to book here. Deborah-san and Tanaka-san are great hosts and will help you with everything you need. I'll stay here again for sure on my next visit because the place worth it.

I have visited Japan for my work several times, but this was my first trip exploring on my own. I can't say enough about the friendliness and kindness of the owner. I was met with a smile at the train station, and Tanaka san was eager to show me around before we got to the house. It really is a work of art. You can clearly see the love that he has put into every nook and cranny of the house. I was still discovering new art pieces on my last day. They are everywhere. His unique pieces fall somewhere between Salvador Dali and Tim Burton for me. They're playful and slightly twisted at the same time. His attention to detail is clearly defined. The place was immaculate with every convenience, including its location near the Kitihara Pass trailhead. I can't say enough about the place and the host.
