Nestled just 300 meters from the mountain village of Sassafras, Chudleigh Park offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Set on a six-acre property atop the State Forest Victoria, our lodges are perched on the edge of a cool ecosystem with towering ferns and forest views. Our lodges offer private balconies and spas for guests to unwind and take in the beauty of the surrounding nature. The Oxfam walking trail is a step away, leading you to the charming hamlets of the Ranges. Spa lovers Haven, South Lodge: 'Victorian State forest' ' This 50sqm space features a living area with expansive windows and doors that open onto a private forest balcony. Wake up to views of giant ferns as you relax in bed, while our playful kookaburras, rosellas, and king parrots entertain you. Keep an eye out for deer and fawns that may wander in from the forest. The interior space is designed for comfort with a queen-sized bed, quality linen, and a newly renovated bathroom featuring a double spa only steps from the bed and separate rainfall shower. Cuddle up on the sofa and enjoy the 50-inch smart TV with a selection of DVDs, as well as Netflix and other streaming options. Warm up with the gas log fire, or use the air conditioner for warmer days. If you're feeling like a bit of old-fashioned fun, enjoy playing a board game while sipping on some old tawny port. We pride ourselves on helping to preserve our environment. We use recycled furniture and antique vintage fittings as much as possible . We,don't like plastics and chemicals and use as minimally as we can. If your wanting a high end ,shiny hotel feel ,our place is not for you!! The kitchen is well-equipped with a medium-sized bar fridge, built-in gas stove, full oven and a microwave. Equipped with cookware, dinnerware and basic condiments to ensure you have everything you need to make a delicious meal. Enjoy organic coffees with a plunger, as well as a good variety of teas. As a special welcome to our guests, we offer a fancy complimentary continental breakfast basket. Complete with local free range eggs. Including organic juice, sourdough, and other yummy snack & goodies to munch on. Vegan/vegetarian options are available upon request.te

We had a fantastic long weekend at Shellie's South Cottage, the place was so cozy and beautiful, perfect to celebrate our anniversary. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful nature and small towns with delicious restaurants and cafes, as well as cute shops. Shellie was very helpful at every moment and we loved the experience and highly recommend it. Thank you Shellie for your amazing hospitality.

Absolute MAGIC!!! My partner and I stayed in Shellie’s beautiful airbnb for our anniversary and it exceeded our expectations. The room itself is extremely cosy, we did not want to leave. The breakfast basket was more than what we could’ve asked for, it was very thoughtful. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. You truly feel like you’re in the middle of a rainforest. Our favourite thing to do was to sit on the balcony and listen to the birds. It was the most peaceful escape from the city. We wish we stayed longer!! Shellie is a wonderful host and provided us with lots of recommendations. She is awesome! We will definitely be back! This was one of the best Airbnb experiences we have had ☺️ Thank you Shellie!!

Chudleigh Park is nestled on both sides of the National Forest Victoria, Australia. The lodges are located at the end of a quiet street in the town of Sassafras. Accessible via a scenic 200-meter winding track, the lodges offer complete privacy, with only one neighbor located approximately 800 meters away. The homeowner's residence and Groundsman quarters are approximately 100 meters from the accommodations.
Sassafras is located 35 kilometers east of Melbourne and 25 kilometers from the renowned Yarra Valley wine region of Victoria. The town's main street has boutique shops and galleries, offering unique gifts and handmade crafts. For foodies, enjoy local cafes and the famous Miss Marple's tea house. Five kilometers up the road, visitors can find additional dining options and grocery stores in the nearby towns of Olinda and Mount Dandenong.
The area is also know for its beautiful gardens such as the Alfred Nichols Memorial Gardens and Cloudehill Gardens. Other attractions include the Pie in the Sky lookout, the William Rickets Sanctuary, and the Puffing Billy Railway, which provides a scenic ride through the Dandenong Ranges.
For those who enjoy hiking and fitness, there are numerous walking trails where you can get a workout while soaking up the scenery. The Mount Dandenong Summit walk and the Kokoda Memorial Walk are both great options for those looking for an intense workout, while the Olinda Falls Track and Sherbrooke Forest Walk offer gentler options.
If you're not arriving by car, you can easily reach Chudleigh Park and explore the Dandenong ranges using the bus service number 688 that runs regularly from Upper Ferntree Gully Station which stops just 300 meters from our property. Alternatively, cabs and Ubers also operate in the area, provided that you give enough notice for pick-up times.
