Jon's house is exactly what we wanted. We were comfortably set up in 3 rooms (5 people) and we like to cook so this house had nearly everything a cook would want. They also were kind enough to leave the coffee machine full so that we could get started our first morning. We loved the setting and one of us went to see the horses every morning and we loved the fact that the sheep managed to bridge the cattle gates to check out the grass inside the property. Obviously we loved the whole experience and would recommend and gladly return to this house.

What a great house. So much room for a group. This house is top end and I highly recommend. It was private and just lovely. Also very convenient for local sites. Visit this place!

As a family with 3 siblings and their spouses, we travelled to south Iceland where we stayed in a comfortable and roomy house in Hvolsvollur hosted by Jon and Anna. The house is situated in a quiet bucolic setting with horse and sheep farms, great for daily walks and excellent location for trips north and east of us. Two hours from Keflavik Airport, 45 min from Selfoss where we picked up a Jeep Tour, an hour from the town of Vik, and nearby to many of the famous Iceland’s waterfalls and volcanic areas. The house has a hot tub, enjoyed by many, and a light filled kitchen/dining area with a harvest table, perfect for breakfast and dinners, and lots of game nights. A grocery store and several local restaurants are in town. Jon and Anna are friendly hosts, responsive to all our questions about the area and the house. We enjoyed an epic stay thanks to Jon and Anna’s wonderful hospitality.

The house was absolutely beautiful with a large yard and plenty of nice surroundings to take a walk. There's an extremely comfortable family room, wide-screen tv , telescope available and large kitchen with nice table for family dining. The location is very convenient to many popular sites. The view from the large kitchen window is wonderful.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Very comfortable and well furnished house with everything we needed. There’s a small grocery in town and it was within driving distance of a lot of places we wanted to visit. Jon suggested many things and we took his advice to go to Gluggafoss on a day we went to the other popular waterfalls and we’re so glad we did! We were almost the only ones there, which was great when the other ones were quite crowded. The house itself is not far off the main road, but far enough that it’s very peaceful and quiet. Excellent view of Hekla from the kitchen window :)
