The house was very nice. Comfy. The views to die for! However, for us the location was too remote. I couldn't walk in the neighborhood easily because of the hills. The beach was rocks. Not easy for us to walk on or get in the water. We are senior citizens so we see things differently than the younger crowd.

If you are looking for a quiet, romantic getaway, this is the place. The house is lovely, clean, well stocked and the views are incredible. If you are a bit older as we are (won’t say how old!), it is important to remember that the stairs are challenging. There are 73 steps up to the house, which explains the gorgeous views, so do keep that in mind. And, hope it is not raining as it was when we checked in! We spent some of our days never leaving the house…the lanai is wonderful and a fabulous place to spend your time. ChoiceMart is the closest grocery store and is fairly well stocked. We found it to be great for our needs. Be sure and check out The Coffee Shack….great breakfast, but go early! They are extremely popular. Would highly recommend this lovely spot.

Gorgeous views! The house is quite literally on a cliff with a steep drive down and up but after a few times it got easier! Approximately 73 stairs to conquer to get upstairs, no AC but the breeze was nice, comfortable bed, LOVED the outdoor shower. House has basic condiments but many are expired. Communication was great, lots of extra little things for the beach and whatnot available. Loved the pretty much private pebble beach down at the bottom of the hill! Plenty of space for the two of us, beautiful grounds and very nice hosts!

What can I say about Kona Cliff House that hasn’t already been said over and over again? The view? Breathtaking. From literally every direction. The absolute best part of our stay. The stairs? Yes, they’re tough. But once you’re up, you’re up! And you’ve got that wonderful view as your reward! The amenities? Everything we could have possibly needed and more! We hadn’t packed insect repellant and there were 3 different varieties available under the sink for us! This was a beautifully unique stay and I am so happy we had this opportunity. Be aware that there will be bugs and there will be geckos. You’re nestled right in nature so it’s to be expected. The gnat activity seemed to be at its peak at night and they were drawn to the lights, so only use the lights you need. We didn’t mind the occasional gecko passing through as we knew they were eating the gnats. My three top food recommendations for the area: Coffee Shack, Black Rock Pizza and Shaka Tacoz. Enjoy your stay!
