The AirBnb was above and beyond what we expected. While it was somewhat far from Kona, and a 20 minute drive from Captain Cook, the location was perfect for us. We wanted to be away from the crowds while still being within driving distance to the National Park and the nearby towns. The place is exactly as advertised and more. It was clean, comfortable, had wonderful amenities like an outdoor shower, well-stocked kitchen appliances, and some beach towels, chairs, and snorkeling gear. We loved how peaceful it was, how you could see the ocean from the balcony and when you woke up in bed, and how close it was to Pebble Beach, which is an oasis in itself for watching the sunset or doing some coastal hiking. It was honestly my best AirBnb experience, and I would 100 percent stay here again.

If you find this available, take it! Gorgeous view of the ocean with beautiful sunsets. It is on the Southwest side of the island in a nice little neighborhood. It has everything you need whether you want to nestle in or go out. We did a bit of both. She provides beach towels, chairs, a cooler, and snorkeling equipment. It is a fabulous place to stay, especially if you want to get say from the tourists in Kona. I would stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay, and Tom is a very friendly and accommodating owner and natural host. Thanks for the papaya and grapefruit! Such flavourful fruit. Amanda’s messages were very well timed and informative. The bungalow was just as advertised; perfectly positioned to accomplish our traveling list. While Pebble beach was quite far to walk, we were able to park there on day one and be treated to a breaching show by two adult humpbacks and their calf at sunset. Yes, the singing frogs will take a day or so to get used to, but they just add character to your stay. The snorkelling equipment was so much appreciated and put it to good use at Captain Cook monument trail. So many fish!! Highly recommended, as we also recommend this bungalow to any other adventurers looking to explore the big island.

We loved staying at Amanda and Tom's place in Captain Cook. It is in a neighborhood but truly private and separate from the tourist hubs. Being about 45 minutes south of Kona freed us up to explore, northern and southern routes, which we did and enjoyed thoroughly. We also enjoyed Pebble Beach at the end of the road they lived off of, a beautiful, reflective spot. We could've stayed in and stayed there for many more days, it was that comfortable and inviting. In fact, we did a solid grocery shop before arriving and because it was such an inviting place to come home to, that's what we did! We ate breakfasts and dinners there, enjoyed the beautiful sunsets each evening and prepared our lunches for while we were on the road. We never ate out during those three days as it was so captivating to be there. We were there for a few days of vacation prior to a weeklong retreat in a center in Pahoa. This was a perfect place to call home prior to that experience. Thank you to our hosts!!!
