We really enjoyed our night in the desert! The host took really good care of us: camel ride in the desert during sunset, nice dinner and a cosy evening at the campfire with music and stories.

We decided to stay a night in Erg Chebbi desert, as it is a must-see in Morocco, and chose Desert Queen for our stay there (camel tour, dinner and breakfast included). It is good to know that since the law changed a few months ago, all the camps are at the border of the desert, in its first dunes, which make the experience different from what we expected. The large orange sand dunes are really impressive, as they appear while you come from Erfoud, much bigger than what we imagined. Once there, we were taken for a camel ride on the dunes, to take some pictures, and back at the camp (the man leading the camel expects you to buy some berber souvernir mid-way to that camel ride). Our hosts were very caring and welcoming, and the dinner they cooked was delicious (we had the vegetarian and chicken tajines). We were pleasantly surprised to see a fully functionnal bathroom (shower and toilets) in our tent, which was good to refresh yourself under 47 degrees (mid-August). After the dinner, we went to a nearby camp to listen and play some berber music, which was nice and relaxing, to finally sleep outside of the tent, as it is much fresher, at least in August :) We woke up around 6am to see the sunset, and walk in the desert, which is really relaxing, to finally make our way back to Erfoud after the breakfast. Thanks for the experience!

Très agréable BNB en bordure de désert. Le boss vous sortira les lits si vous souhaitez dormir à la belle étoile. La promenade en dromadaire, le dîner et le pdj sont parfaits ainsi que les échanges avec les hôtes. Je vous le recommande.

Me and my bf went here for a couple nights this May: one night we spent at the camp ( very decent) and the other one deeper in the desert, sleeping under the stars, which was truly magical (though if you have as gentle European butts as we do, beware of the camel ride! Mine was hurting for a couple days after the ride :-D ). Obviously English is not a local language here, so it would be helpful to be able to speak some French (or Arabic, for that matter), if you are into lengthy conversations.
