The lodge is located within an idyllic setting with field views hidden away which gives you that peaceful rural feeling but within walking distances to local amenities. We had a great stay and enjoyed the large open plan living spaces and generous sized bedrooms which the converted barn gave us. There is a fantastic cafe located directly next door offering good food and great pubs in the village of Great Bentley along with some nice local restaurants. Fiona the host was very welcoming and friendly and easily contactable which was a real benefit. The lodge is fitted out with all of the equipment to easily cook and has a washing machine and dishwasher which was handy. We would highly recommend this Airbnb and will hopefully be returning in the not too distant future.

Excellent property and location plenty of room for four adults and two children , everything is as listed and all requests where in place or in the property on arrival, excellent location for day trips out for whatever you like beaches , nature reserves and walks definitely will return very happy

Fiona was a very friendly host. The hayloft was clean and tidy with everything we needed and more! The children loved being on a farm and enjoyed seeing all the tractors and diggers. The location was perfect for day trips to Colchester zoo, maldon and “a day out with Thomas”. The farm cafe next door did a very yummy lunch. We’d recommend and will hopefully stay again.

Fantastic property, immaculately clean and tidy. Fiona was extremely helpful and had lots of recommendations and tips for us for things to do. The house was delightful and just what we needed. A wonderful stay and we would absolutely recommend and revisit.
