Our home is positioned between the lovely Constable inspired grounds of the University of Essex - home to the critically acclaimed 18th Century Wivenhoe House Brassarie restaurant and the picturesque Wivenhoe quayside, which offers a wealth of pubs, boutique shops, restaurants, coffee shops and includes a gourmet deli.
Wivenhoe is home to The Black Buoy, voted best rural Essex pub 2016 and the newly opened Flag gastro pub. The quayside opens onto the stunning Colne estuary with walks meandering along the coastline. Also based in the village is a mainline station. With London Liverpool Street only an hour away, Wivenhoe is perfectly situated for London day trips.
Surrounding Wivenhoe is a wealth of stunning blue flag beaches and areas of outstanding natural beauty. With the nearest beach less than 15 minutes away and the beautiful Holland-on-Sea, Frinton-by-the-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze all within a 1/2 hour drive, the beach is our children's second playground!

The driveway comfortably holds 2 cars. Everything in Wivenhoe is a short 10 minute walk from the house, including bus stops and a main line station with travel time to London in under 1 hour.
