Blackwater is a stylish yet comfortable haven for families and groups to catch up, relax, unwind and enjoy island life. Located in the anchorage area of West Mersea, the house is a mere short walk from the beach, yacht club, waterfront restaurants and watersports. Whether you are looking to escape the bustle of city life, reuniting with family and friends or want to learn to paddle-board, Mersea and the surrounding area has something for everyone. At Blackwater you will find a four bed/ five bath house with plenty of off-street parking. The welcoming hallway includes a downstairs cloakroom and boot cupboard. In the spacious family room, including designated workstation, you will find plenty of comfy sofas to curl up on to watch a movie or read a book. The ample dining room, which seats 8-10, leads into a large kitchen with breakfast bar, sofa and bi-fold doors opening on to an extensive deck complete with outdoor seating/ firepit-style dining table and BBQ. You will also find a 7-seater hot tub, the perfect way to relax after a day of taking in the delights of Mersea. Upstairs, you will find two king size bedrooms and two doubles, one of which has an additional single top bunk. Each bedroom comes complete with en suite shower rooms and plenty of storage so you can unpack and truly feel at home. The master bathroom includes a large walk-in shower and long, deep bath to luxuriate in.

Me and the family had a great stay, we loved every second x would definitely stay again
This was the perfect place to spend a long weekend. The house was spotlessly clean, in beautiful condition and really well stocked for our family get together. Situated in a really quiet cul de sac that is only a short walk from the beach and high street. We had a lovely time and would love to return. Thanks for a lovely stay!
Helen’s house is absolutely beautiful and exactly like the pictures. The rooms are spacious and modern. Spotlessly clean and inviting everywhere. Comfy beds and wonderful to have en-suites for each bedroom. The living space was a real joy with a well equipped open plan kitchen, a lovely dining table perfect for family meals and a cosy living room with sofas for all to seat comfortably. We had such fun! The hot tub was well used and a real treat. Thank you so much Helen, we have stayed in many lovely places but this absolutely tops the bill as a perfect place for us as a family of four couples.
The accomodation could not be faulted, beautifully prepared house, lots of little extras like coffee pods, fresh bread etc. Plenty of seating for the number of guests. Catered well for our pooch pal with blankets, treats, toys etc. Helen made us feel welcome even before we arrived with a few timely messages. Hot tub was a complete bonus!
We had a wonderful stay with a group of friends over New Year in West Mersea. We all commented how comfortable the house is and well stocked. We walked to the beach every day, which is close and lovely. Really clear manuals and instructions, massive TV, great hot tub and amazing large fridge! The dining area is really comfortable and great for games, as is the lounge. All the en-suite showers were powerful and the beds good. We would all highly recommend Helen’s place!

Blackwater is conveniently located for the local amenities with a number of coffee shops, gift shops, supermarkets/grocers/ butcher and takeaways 10-15 mins walk away.
There is a large park/play area, small museum, Post Office, library and watersports company for hiring equipment and tuition.
