Cute studio apartment in Playa Pelada. Great location near jungle trails that lead to beautiful north Pelada beach, the river mouth and the mangrove reserve (all less than 5-minutes walking). Small kitchenette stocked with the essentials. Hot water in the shower and sinks. New, comfy queen bed. New AC unit. Recently remodeled kitchen and bathroom. Relax in the hammock and watch the monkeys play in the trees after a day filled with yoga and surfing! Our kitchen is stocked with a new apartment size fridge, toaster oven, blender, 2 burner electric stovetop, coffee machine, bowls, plates, pots/pans, etc. There is also a bar table and chairs in the kitchen. We compost our organics and recycle. Soft white sheets, extra pillows and lots of towels (bath and beach). We are close to beautiful Playa Pelada and the reserve that is near the Nosara River, so there is still a lot of green space in the area which means we get a lot of visitors like howler monkeys, coatimundis, raccoons, armadillos, birds, etc. We also have three friendly dogs, a cat and a flock of chickens - including one rooster who crows at his leisure. The monkeys can be loud in the morning when the howl or drop seed pods on the roof and birds like to get an early start here too. Suffice is to say that ear plugs are a good choice if you like to sleep in and are sensitive to noise. We also have the occasional ant, spider, scorpion, frog or gecko visitor since we are still in a jungle. I can relocate said creature but I cannot guarantee that your stay will be critter-free. If you are looking for a full service, no critter, no noise experience, I suggest staying in one of the more expensive hotels in Nosara. There are many activities that are minutes away from our house, including a beautiful beach with tide pools at low tide, horseback riding, ATV rentals, kayaking, SUP and yoga. Playa Guiones and the surfing beaches can be reached on foot (walking along the beach for 15-20 minutes) or driving for 10 minutes on the main road. We are close to many restaurants, supermarkets and everything you need (most are driving distance though so we HIGHLY recommend having a vehicle to get around).

Beautiful area. Gorgeous property. We enjoyed easy access to beach trails and lookout points. The neighborhood was quiet with low traffic, so we could hear the ocean waves. We saw howler monkeys in the trees right outside the patio regularly. Amazing! The patio was lovely for morning coffee and nightcaps, and we enjoyed the hammock. The casita was beautiful inside and had everything we needed, including the much needed a/c. There were even folding chairs and an umbrellas to borrow for the beach! Unfortunately we found the bed too firm and pillows very flat for our preference. Highly recommend ear plugs as there is a rooster who began to crow as early as 1am but generally 2:30-3ish AM and regularly thereafter. Heidi is a very responsive host and she and her family are very friendly. I had an opportunity to attend 3 of Heidi’s yoga classes and absolutely loved them. I appreciated her style of yoga as well as her positive energy. Overall great experience!

We loved our stay, especially the area Heidi’s spot is located and the path to playa pelada. The space is cozy and had everything we needed :)
We had a fantastic stay at Heidi's place. The apartment was perfect for our stay of just over a week and Heidi's was an awesome host - communicative, friendly and very helpful. We especially enjoyed Heidi's yoga classes too! Thanks for a great stay :)

We, obviously, love Costa Rica and Playa Pelada in particular. North Pelada is our favorite beach - it's beautiful and has very few people. Sometimes you will have the entire beach to yourself. At low tide it is a great swimming beach and there are tide pools to explore.
We also love being close to the river which is spectacular. There are two vista points close to our house and access to the main river mouth. Being surrounded by reserves means we see a lot of monkeys and wildlife on our property, including a lot of birds for the avid birders out there.
We are close to everything you need but you still get the sense that you are tucked away on a road less traveled. It really is a little slice of paradise and we look forward to sharing it with you!
There is ample parking available at our house which is gated and secure. We recommend guests rent a vehicle to get around (or use the tuk tuk taxis to get around). We are walking distance to north Pelada beach, but a car gives you access to more beaches, including Playa Guiones which is a ten minute drive south, San Juanillo, Samara, Ostional, etc. We are also close to a lot of restaurants and activities - some are walking distance, but most are easier to access with a car.
There are tuk tuks (motorcycles converted into 3-wheel taxis) available to get around and buses running from Nosara to Nicoya, San Jose and Liberia. We also recommend CR Terra Tours for shuttle service to/from the Liberia airport.
Many businesses also offer quad, bicycle, electric bicycle, and golf cart rentals.
There are rental car agencies in town as well - National, Economy and Alamo.

My husband, Graham, and I moved from California to Nosara in 2012 in search of a different lifestyle. I teach yoga at my personal yoga studio which is on the same property as our Air BnB and run a yoga and horseback riding retreat business called Equisol Retreats. I am a proud mother to my son, Nash, my daughter, Leela, my two dog-children, Lassie and Chichi, my two horse-children, Frisco and Lucas, my cat, Chile and my 10 chickens. We love our little slice of paradise here in Playa Pelada.
