The setting is so peaceful! Pretty easy bike ride to everywhere. We found it to be perfect for a relaxing weekend. Enjoyed the spacious dock for lounging outdoors., and the picnic table overlooking the lake. The cabin is comfy, clean and tastefully designed. Carol is a great host with lots of knowledge about the island.

We visited Madeleine Island for one night, to join up with family members who are camping. We needed a place just to sleep. There weren’t a lot of choices but the 5* reviews gave us great confidence that it would be worth the money. We were happy with the location close to the village of La Pointe and proximity to Big Bay State Park. The property is in a beautiful forested area overlooking Lake Superior. It’s very peaceful and private. We were disappointed to find the lower level apartment unlocked, despite being given a code. Guests should have confidence that they are entering a secure apartment. We were taken aback by the smell. There was evidence that this may be a part time home for dogs. The apartment was not as clean as we expect nor was the comfort of the beds and sheets. We were shocked to find one of the beds made with a filthy comforter. It appeared to be a dog’s comforter. We appreciated the coffee packet and the chairs for our morning coffee on the dock!
