Robert and Carmen are absolutely wonderful hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble. The location is idyllic and peaceful, attention to detail second to none and the antics of the ducks and chickens kept us well amused. The treatments offered by Carmen were wonderful and relaxing and we truly felt destressed. The house is exactly as described and it was great to be able to avoid the TV etc and spend time together and of course there is WIFI. You need a car to the nearest village which had everything we required. Robert tends the beautiful garden and is on hand to offer anything that he has in the way of herbs and even rhubarb. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds very comfortable. The house was immaculate despite the efforts of the odd spider or two. We had a lovely time and would definitely go back hopefully when the weather is better as this was about the only thing Robert and Carmen weren't able to provide to make our stay fabulous!!
We stayed in Carmen and Roberts holiday home for a family wedding. What a treat, it was a home from home. There were seven of us. We cooked alot, there were lots of utensils available. The decor vas fabulous, from the Soft furnishings, to the wood burning Stove. There were lots of little nooks for eueyone to go for a little bit of privacy. No need for a T.V. The friendly ducks and chickens were such a joy to watch. Thank you so much I hope we will be back soon.
We absolutely loved our time at Carmen and Robert’s house. The accommodation was clean, cosy and comfortable. Carmen and Robert are wonderful hosts.
Robert and Carmen’s home in the country is five-star to say the least! From the finishes, to the comfort, to the garden and produce, to the over the top hospitality! Do yourself a self care favor and stay at this beautiful retreat! Our only regret is that we didn’t enjoy Carmen’s spa services that are offered! Otherwise we felt like we were at a spa! Highly recommend to other travelers!
We've had the most wonderful time at Carmen and Roberts! The house and the surroundings are really breathtaking. Carmen and Robert were so lovely and welcoming, they really took care of us. We would definitely recommend anyone to stay at the Branchfield House!

Carmen & Robert brought their family to the west coast in 1998 for a life after Australia, Germany and England. The name Branchfield House comes from the Townland name Branchfield in County Sligo. Its architecture has both Irish and English heritage... now lovingly restored. Our children are spread all over the world and so we welcome our guests to share in what the family has created. Carmen is a qualified masseuse specialising in stress-relief therapies and husband Robert is a Landscape Architect with an internet business WORLD smallest KITE. They each share a passion for cooking, rarely eat out, make exquisite tea and coffee, use exclusive organic ingredients with home grown seasonal herbs, veg, eggs and wine. The kitchen garden produces seasonal crops and a work in progress is daily attendance of a beautifully restored Victorian Orangery that provides salad veges and early morning sunshine. Our own Airbnb travels seek 3 basics - a cosy bed, excellent shower pressure and pure drinkable water and we think you will enjoy all three. Carmen's liking for making her guests feel at home can only be called luxurious and she recommends guests to bring their favourite cosy slippers as we encourage shoes off-at-the-door. The Guest House is set across a landscaped courtyard that catches the best of the sun and guests are welcome to bask in the many private nooks. The surrounding land is farmed with grazing cows and sheep and the courtyard has chickens, ducks and birds that sing the dawn chorus. Robert is usually found gardening or restoring the dry stone walls so there's normally someone on hand to assist with enquiries. Carmen has fluent German and Robert fluent Australian :) If what you seek is privacy then we'll leave you to enjoy. We look forward to your visit.
