Dining table and chairs, two 2-seater sofas, coffee table, TV with DVD player, telephone, wi-fi, a selection of books, dvd's and games, cupboard with vacuum cleaner and cleaning materials. One double bedroom and one single, plus a small bathroom with bath (shower over), shaver socket, WC and washbasin.
Excellent location, nice surroundings, very peaceful. I love it. I highly recommend Janet's place. She is a lovely person and gave lots of good recommendations. I will happily return ☺️.
Janet was the friendliest host for the cutest cabin! Not only was the place full of character in a beautiful setting but it had everything we needed. Janet gave us some recommendations for the local area that came in handy and we really enjoyed our stay. Would definetly recommend!
If you are out for a peaceful retreat, this is it. The chalet is basic and simple yet has everything you could need for a stay. Birds are always singing and wildlife abounds.. deer, river otter live near.. Our short stay was mired by stomach virus and a broken down car. Through it all Janet was there for whatever we needed. A fantastic caring host on a gorgeous piece of property.
Lovely stay in a stunning location - we never tired of opening the curtains in the morning and soaking up the view! The cabin is incredibly homely, exactly as depicted & described, and we received such a warm welcome from Janet with lots of helpful recommendations. Weather was changeable when we visited (that’s Scotland for you) and the cabin always felt cosy. Unbelievable value, gorgeous peaceful location - highly recommend.
My family of 3 had the relaxing getaway we were after. This was mainly due to the location and the accommodation. Everything was as listed and Janet and her family were extremely helpful. We pretty much visited all the recommend places Janet pointed us to, and was well worth it. I would say a car is a must to experience the surroundings fully. We had a 3 year old so we wanted to make it fun for him also. 40 min drive is Forest Adventure Park which was amazing for all the family. Inverness is beautiful and steeped in history. I would highly recommend for a Scottish getaway.
There are lots of walks in the area, including parts of the South Loch Ness trail, and the Trail of the Seven Lochs. Trout fishing is also available (mid March - early October) on local lochs, and there are plenty of opportunities for birdwatching. Castles and distilleries are within easy driving distance. and many guests like to try and see the Moray firth dolphins - the most northerly population of bottlenose dolphins, who can often be seen from the shoreline or on boat trips. Of course there are also boat trips on Loch Ness. Folders of tourist information are provided- there are lots of things to do and see! Local therapists can provide a range of complementary therapies, and there is a shop and cafe at the Falls of Foyers 4 miles away where red squirrels can often be seen. The area also has a tea room and several hotels who do bar meals if you don't feel like cooking - although you will need to drive for 10 - 20 minutes to get to them.
Parking is in a lay-by below the Chalet on our private track (unmetalled road.) A car is really essential to enjoy all this lovely area has to offer. The nearest bus is a mile away, and only operates 3 times a day. The train station is at Inverness - 18 miles, and the airport is about 29 miles.

I live with my husband Alex near Loch Ness in the Highlands of Scotland. We are both retired but have 2 self catering cottages which keeps us busy and I also work for a friend one day a week as Manager of an Acupuncture clinic. I also do a couple of complementary therapies myself, and Alex teaches people fly fishing. We both enjoy reading - I was a librarian, and we met at a local mountaineering club. Alex is a keen runner and is a Scottish champion cross-country and 5k in his age group. We like to stay in out of the way places, or occasionally in cities. Music - traditional, Alex plays the fiddle. I can't even sing in tune, but enjoy listening! Wish we had time to do more travelling, but we like many parts of the UK, Madeira, the Alps, Canada, New Zealand etc. etc. Still many places we'd like to visit. As guests we are friendly and respectful of your property As hosts we enjoy meeting different people and helping you to find the best walks, views, eating out etc. We are there if you need us, but do not intrude on your privacy.
