Arrived after 70 mile cycle really tired and asked if I could have a drink of milk (protein), was immediately given a pint of cold fresh milk (heavenly). Nice one Jess. Showered and straight to dinner to enjoy a meal. We were late they kindly kept the kitchen open. But by the look of us if they hadn't fed us we would have ate a cat or dog or something. Great nights sleep in a comfortable bed and warm room. Breakfast was an amazing choice. Honey on toast , Orange juice ,yogurt Melon and kiwi. More yogurt. One more toast. Then kippers and eggs. Plenty of coffee and a cold glass of milk. My friend had full English which look great. Then on with the remainder of our journey. The hotel was fresh clean but felt homely. Professional staff and very friendly. I had a few laughs. Gardens beautiful and our bikes were locked in the hotels garage for safe keeping. Would recommend and would like to return.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful quiet surrounding. Not sure if better value to book direct. We had a comfortable room with ensuite shower. Breakfast choices included eggs Benedict which were excellent. Highly recommended stay.

A really lovely break. Everything about Lydford Country House exceeded our expectations but the thing that we would like to single out was the welcoming, friendly manner of everyone working there - it's the welcome you get that takes a stay from being a nice stay to a great stay. We hope to return in the not too distant future.
