Lugar muy hermoso. Perfecto para descansar y conectarse con la naturaleza. Cabaña en el interior muy hermosa. Sin embargo, descuidada en el exterior y el àrea donde se deja el vehìculo no es muy segura.

What a perfect getaway, right on the edge of Maricao State Forest with nature all around! The birdlife is incredible. Half of Puerto Rico’s endemics birds can be seen from the porch — we saw 9. Has wonderful porch and a small deck overlooking the forest. The host provided all the details needed to help us prepare and find the place. When a minor issue came up, the host was very responsive to our text. Bring some good food (area is remote for Puerto Rico), be prepared for the walk downhill to the cabin from your car, and you will have a wonderful escape.

Super peaceful and private but takes some work to get settled and bring your things up and down the hill. The house is unique but basic amenities need improvement (pots, pans, etc.) and some structures like sunning deck are rotting and needing repair. Lots of notes everywhere with directions and warnings that in some ways are helpful but in another way make you feel like you are always possibly doing something wrong. I enjoyed myself but think this place is ideal for someone that wants a step above camping but not glamping —- and plans to stay at the house relaxing for 2-3 days at a time … going down the main for adventures is quite an undertaking.

Este lugar es excelente para retirarse del ruido del entorno urbano. Un ambiente sereno y muy acogedor en el medio del bosque. En la noche puedes disfrutar de estrellas fugaces y muchas luciérnagas. Algunos consejos para potenciar su estadía: La llegada a la casa debe hacerse a pie, a través de un sendero de tierra de unos 12 minutos de duración aproximadamente. Procuren ir livianos/as de equipaje. Asegúrense de confirmar que tengan toallas en la casa y si se van a bañar con agua caliente, procuren hacerlo rápido pues no dura mucho tiempo antes de ponerse fría. Finalmente, la explicación escrita para llegar es un poco confusa por lo que recomiendo aclararla antes de encaminarse. Yo regresaría a esta linda casita en medio de la nada.

This place is quiet except for the wonderful birds and frogs. It was a delight to stay on a mountainside jungle cabin (with hot water). Birders, this place is great, no need to go anywhere else. It would be possible but tight for a family. Such a lovely retreat, I enjoyed the place immensely.
