It was an awesome experience sleeping in the castle. Griselda was awesome. The breakfast was yummy. We played crochet and billiards. Fun place

Griselda’s castle is breathtakingly beautiful and meticulously kept. So much lovelier in person than the photos, it took my breath away. The beds and linens were comfortable and showers were hot. And the included breakfast was delicious with homemade jam. I cannot wait to return with my girlfriends next time!! Thank you so much for staying up for our late check in. I only wish we had more time to wander the grounds.

Our stay at Thornton Castle was incredible! Griselda & Ian were so welcoming from the minute we arrived. The castle is a very comfortable place to stay & we loved our accommodations. We made use of the Snooker table, sitting rooms, & walked the beautiful gardens. We were missing our dogs, so meeting hers was a real treat. Ian’s informative tour was fantastic. We learned so much. Breakfast was so good & the dinner Griselda fixed was delicious. And she gave us helpful tips on where to go/what to see. We can’t say enough good things about our stay. I’m hopeful we can someday return, as our 2 night stay wasn’t nearly long enough.

Thornton Castle was the highlight of our 14-day Scottish rowing trip. The authenticity of the rooms and the beautiful garden make you forget about time. All this is topped by the warmth and care with which Griselda welcomes her guests. The title of a superhost has taken on another dimension: Griselda is a mega-host!
