Seashore Studio - self-contained with direct access to garden and shore and fab view of Holy Isle across the bay. The studio is flexible (double/twin bed with optional third bed) making it a nice hideaway for a couple or friends sharing. Local cafes, hotels and shops are a 15 min walk. Perfect for walkers, cyclists, kayakers, & birdwatchers. Andrew, your host, is a local artist and conservationist who helped create the South Arran Marine Protected Area. Please check Calmac ferries when booking. The studio comprises a combined living, kitchen, bedroom (c30m square) with spectacular sea views and a separate en suite bathroom within a seaside bungalow. There is a lock to your door which is accessed via a common corridor and also sliding doors out to the garden and shore. There is wifi but no TV. If you need an additional room please ask.

Had a wonderful few days staying here. The view was spectacular, kitchen well equipped and everything was clean and comfortable. Got a fantastic night's sleep! Andrew was really friendly and welcoming, with lots of recommendations for walks and places to eat. Look forward to staying again - hopefully for longer next time!
My girlfriend and I had a lovely stay at Andrew's place. The studio was bigger than we expected and in fantastic surroundings, right on the wasterfront with views of lamlash bay and over to holy island. Andrew was a great host, friendly and welcoming and gave us some good tips. There was a problem with the hob while we there that Andrew dealt with promptly and caused us no further issues. We would definitely recommend staying with Andrew and we hope to come back again ourselves.
The view from the studio apartment is beautiful. Very peaceful location. Andrew was very helpful about recommendations for local walks etc. He came to meet me when I called to check location and was very responsive to requests
Andrew was an amazing host! We enjoyed every minute there! Very clean and such a wonderful view! He was helpful in answering any questions we had, and was responsive in all communication. He even loaned us a deck of cards, which we forgot to bring, and brought a couple of other games as well! I highly recommend staying here, and would love to come back again. Arran is stunning!
A wonderful location with everything you could need. The small touches such as flowers in the window, soft lovely linen really made the stay that bit more special. Our host was knowledgeable on the area and shown us some great walking routs, really friendly and the space we had felt private and had the most sublime veiw over Lamlash. I woke up in the morning to oystercatchers and curlews, saw seals in the evening down the coast and watched chaffinches enjoy a bird feeding station outside the window, it was wonderful and worth every penny!. Lamlash is a great location too, brilliant sea food, lovely walks, good bus services and a small supermarket for all needs so it felt like i had everything i could possibly need whilst being miles away from the main bustles and stresses of life even on a rainy September day!. Myself and my husband will definitely be back again as we both really loved the place and location!. :)

Lamlash Bay and village is one of the prettiest parts of Arran. The village is friendly, with a store, a couple of cafes and some nice places to eat. There is a small marine visitor centre which your host helped set up. A short (15 minute walk) from the studio will take you to the centre of the village.
There is plenty of parking at the house. Public buses run around the island and the nearest bus stop is 10 minutes walk. Taxis are available by booking. Brodick, where the ferry arrives is 10 minutes drive from your accommodation. There are many wonderful walks and mountain bike tracks. Kayaking from the ferry terminal to the bottom of the garden will take less than 2 hours. Yachties welcome too.

Like a lot of Arran residents I first visited Arran on a family holiday and was captivated! I moved here in 2011 as the Director of the Community of Arran Seabed Trust and helped to establish the South Arran Marine Protected Area. I am currently volunteering with another environmental group as well as running my Airbnb and looking after our visitors.
