Good location with access to Lake Gaston which was the reason for our stay. Staying in a heated/cooled shed with bathroom, fridge and microwave is fine if everything is set up and ready for you and works properly but it did not. Had to turn on water and hot water heater ourselves. Maintenance is needed on storm door of unit we stayed in. If you want to take a hot shower for more than 2 minutes after a cool day like when we staying in early spring, stay somewhere else. (tiny hot water tank and non-water saving shower head dumped it all out quick). Instructions in book for placing trash in outside trash can but there was none outside the unit. Fortunately the heating unit did work well. Not worth the $169 per night we spent when you add in all taxes and fees for a long term stay or repeat trip. It was fine for a one time short trip.

Jim & Joan are such kind and attentive hosts. The cabin and surrounding property were more than I’d expected to get. I felt safe and sound and right at home, and had such a pleasant and peaceful escape from the daily grind of work! Every need and requests was met with my expectations exceeded!

Great place to lay our heads while we were visiting friends at the lake. Great surroundings and property. Exactly as described! We will stay here again, if we get the chance.

Definitely recommend checking this place out. We loved out stay here. Going to book for next weekend too.
