The thought we had after staying in the cottage: " We should have chosen a camping site instead...". We booked the cottage after camping for 3 nights at Bruce Peninsula and thought we should have a very comfortable stay compared to sleeping in a tent especially given the price. The location is great, cannot say anything about it, there is a private beach, the view is great but... You cannot park your car next to the cottage because it's on the beach and there is no passage for the car. Our cottage was the farthest and you have to bring your bags, one by one from the car to the cottage, around 300m I think for us, in a cart at least, and a lot more from the permanent parking space if you forgot something in the car. The beach would be great if the ground in the water was cleaned from the seaweeds...We knew based on the description that there is no linen or towels provided (even though it was weird for the price we pay) but we didn't expect the absence of the toilet paper or soap in the washroom, good that we came from camping and had everything with us. There was a coffee machine (not very clean though) but no filters so even couldn't use it. The most annoying thing probably was the smell from the water in the cottage...Camping in different places we've never encountered such terrible water, it contains so much iron that it probably creates a permanent trace in the bath or nobody actually cares to clean it, who knows. The last thing is check-in/check-out time: 5 pm/9am, why is it so early? We couldn't even wash all the dishes after the breakfast because we just didn't have time to leave in time otherwise. Cannot say anything about the hosts, we just didn't communicate with them during our short stay. But if we are in the area one more time we will definitely go camping in the park, the cottage didn't meet our expectations.
