The Hideaway is a cozy casual 950 sq ft waterfront guest cottage set up for families with 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, washer/dryer, well-stocked kitchen, bright dining area, spacious lounge w/ a 50" 4K HD TV with Netflix, Prime etc, hi-speed wifi, Bluetooth speaker, 2 SUP’s, 3 kayaks, canoe & life jackets. Level 2 EV charger. (All included. No fees.) Enjoy meals on the covered BBQ patio w/ heated dining area & gorgeous nature views all around. Outdoor fire pit. Your “RESET” from city life! "This place is a magical hideaway in an enchanted setting." Guest "It's the perfect place if you're looking for a very quiet and relaxing getaway." Guest Cruise down the driveway to our private detached guest cottage, situated on a picturesque tidal fjord located on a sprawling one acre property. Watch the tides roll in and out twice a day. Play on the water, or take a walk on the flats when the tide is out -- and later that very same day, you are paddling or swimming over that same area! These tides are what makes the water incredibly warm (warmest water in Secret Cove) and delightful to swim in! Also, we're on an estuary here, which tends to attract wildlife. Amazing bird-watching with majestic eagle sightings daily. Go for a swim in the calm, clear, warm water which comes down fresh from nearby waterfalls and merges with the salt water from the cove, which flows into the inlet, and then into the strait, and eventually into the Pacific Ocean. There are countless areas to explore in a kayak or canoe. It's truly magical! And if the water isn’t your thing, then there is excellent hiking just minutes away at Smuggler Cove or Homesite Creek, and many lakes to visit, and the famed Skookumchuck Narrows Rapids. (One of Canada's natural wonders!) The Hideaway is centrally located, which is very convenient for exploration. I highly recommend googling your outdoor interests/activities according to your family's interests and making up your dream Sunshine Coast itinerary for your visit!

what a fantastic place to stay. we stayed with our 2 children for a long weekend and it was just what we needed to reset chill out and have some family time. the weather wasn't great (is it ever) but we still made the most of it. the kayaks and paddle boards were such a great touch specially as we had never done it before. we managed a camp fire and toasted smores and even made the most of the bbq because it was under cover, so we enjoyed our food whilst listening to the rain. and the views wow, everything around the cottage was just stunning. and we got to adventure through it all and see lots of wildlife whilst we did it. the cottage was so cozy, clean and well equipped with everything you need. nikki and her husband were amazing hosts, super friendly and attentive and gave us some great recommendations of places to go. we will absolutely be back. Thank-you so much.
i enjoyed my stay here at the hideaway from the very first second. the beautiful house is situated in a particularly beautiful and unique location. you feel like you are in the middle of nature, you can hear the birds singing, but it is so quiet that i was able to relax and sleep well. of course, the close location to the water is also wonderful, you can follow the tides and explore and enjoy the sea and water world with the many boats and SUPs on offer. the house offers everything for a pleasant and satisfying stay. nikki and her partner are very lovely, attentive and friendly hosts who are always quick to answer and help with any questions. although you live outside the concrete jungle and deep in nature, shopping facilities, restaurants, attractions and much more are within easy reach. the information and tips provided by the host nikki are very helpful and valuable. if possible, i will definitely come back to this magical place, which i have renamed “hidden paradise” in my heart.
Idyllic. Genuinely never stayed in an airbnb like this. Being on the fjord is just unreal. All the paddle equipment, fire pit, tv, games, great shower, comfy bed. What more could you want? Such a great experience. Thank you.

The neighbourhood is centrally located smack dab in the middle of the Sunshine Coast, which is perfect for day trips. It's an extremely peaceful, natural area, year round, you will hear the water outside, as it rolls by in the waterway. During spring, you'll hear a delightful chorus of frogs at night, and wake up to a symphony of different birds singing. And there's always the gentle sound of the breeze through the trees. It's a lushly forested paradise here! There's almost no traffic sounds, or noisy people hollering at night. Serenity at it's finest... In the off season, you will hear the sound of the waterfalls, and the roar of the estuary, as the water rushes by even more forcefully. Every season is a breathtakingly beautiful and unique experience. (That's why we moved here!) The city will melt away... You'll see! You'll leave extremely rested, recharged and refreshed, and ready to take on city life once again. :)
Secret Cove, is an area of Halfmoon Bay which is in central Sunshine Coast and yet it's somewhat tucked away from all the hubbub, hence the peacefulness and feeling of seclusion, so you absolutely need a vehicle to get around. Downtown Sechelt is a short 17 minute drive South, where you'll find anything you need. In a pinch, there is the historic Halfmoon Bay General Store just a few minutes away, where you can pick up food, snacks, ice cream toiletries, and even wine/spirits! Going the other way -- North -- you will find your way to Madeira Park, Ruby Lake, and Pender Harbour -- with numerous lakes for day trips and picnics, and the famous Skookumchuck Narrows rapids, which is a natural wonder of BC! Virtually everywhere is a very scenic drive with long stretches of ocean or lake views. You'll fall in love with the coastal lifestyle. Come get a piece of it at The Hideaway!
