Welcome to “Quinta Porta do Sol”, located in Santo António da Serra (or Santo da Serra), just 10km from Machico, council where the discovereres of Madeira Island landed for the first time between 1418 – 1420. Santo António da Serra, is defined by its romantism of the beautiful natural landscapes, its abundance on vegetation, pleasant climate and for its several Levadas, such as: “Levada da Serra do Faial” and the “Levada Nova”. It is also caracterized by its funtastic Golf Club. The beautiful view over the mountains and its privileged location, make Santo da Serra one of the most popular rural attractions of the Madeira Island. “Quinta Porta do Sol” is a traditional cottage, with an entensive garden, filled with lots of fruit trees, and where several animals live (such as chickens, ducks, geese, sheep and goats). It’s a calm place, great for relaxation. The cottage is made up of: 2 bedrooms, 2WC, kitchen, dining-room and sitting-room. The sitting-room has typical Madeirian objects, and a dazzling fireplace, making it a perfect familiar atmosphere. “Quinta Porta do Sol” has heating in all its divisions and WIFI, in order to proportionate a funtastic stay. There is also a private car parking available.

Quel endroit! la maison est grande, le jardin également. le calme et la tranquillité a quelques minutes de Funchal et Machico, dans un ecrin de verdure. Un vrai paradis. Un airbnb de qualité avec un hôte, Diogo, extrêmement sympathique et réactif. N'hésitez pas!
We hebben een fantastisch verblijf gehad in het ouderlijk huis van Diogo. Het enige wat ik kan zeggen, is dat het nog veel groter is dan lijkt op de foto’s. En de zelfgemaakte cake van Diogo’s moeder was heerlijk!
Diogo was friendly and helpful, as was his father. The property is as described and the photos are accurate. It was a short drive from the airport. We had some lovely walks straight from the property, along Levadas, and past waterfalls. Santa Cruz took us 1 hour 10mins to walk to, longer to get back (this is a very steep walk).
Diogo is een hele vriendelijke en fijne host: reageert snel, geeft goede en leuke tips voor de omgeving en reageert pro-actief en snel.
Diogo's house exceeded our expectations. The house is beautiful, with so much space. We loved the traditional farmhouse features and the peaceful, private garden was the perfect place to relax. Diogo was friendly and helpful and he shared some brilliant local recommendations for places to eat. We would love to visit Madeira again and hope to stay here again in the future, thank you for a great stay!
