We stayed at Miriam’s place in late April. The location is amazing and situated amongst plenty of restaurants / shops and sights. Very walkable and easy to get to most attractions in Madrid. The place is also on a quieter street so we didn’t encounter a lot of street noise in the night. However the bedrooms closer to the entrance were not ideal and can do better with protection from light / sounds from the stairway. Also the buzzer would randomly go off in the middle of the night waking the entire family up.

This is a fantastic location right near the Prado and walking distance to El Retiro, Atocha Station, the Reina Sofía Museum, and the Royal Palace. There are also several good restaurants very close by. The apartment is extremely clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. It is newly renovated with a convenient layout, clean bathrooms, and a great little kitchen area. Check the n and check out were very convenient. There was only enough hot water for two people to shower in a row. Our family of four had to space our showers out through the day which was fine for us after we were aware of that issue. We also had a problem with the automated “Nuki” lock system. It was only locking the top latch which was not secure and not locking the dead bolt. We were able to lock the dead bolt manually with the key. If you stay here, you should double check to make sure the deadbolt is locking.

**Low to NO hot water warning** This unit is beautiful, in a quiet part of Madrid within walking distance of everything. It has 3 lockable private bedrooms and a great shared kitchen and living space. However, the host was slow to respond; we sometimes waited 3 hours or more between messages. They frequently didn't answer direct questions I asked. However, despite the good, I have to give a 3-star rating as our experience was marred by a lack of hot water in the unit. As other reviews have mentioned, the unit's boiler had fallen off the wall in the closet. We noticed this on the first night after showering, and the hot water began cooling within 90 seconds. The host said they would send someone to fix it. Apparently, they did while we were out, but we weren't told that until after checkout. The other water was never hot for us, even after the supposed "fix." Until the boiler is confirmed to be truly fixed, with photo confirmation I would be leary of renting this unit.

The location was great! Lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and close to museums, train station, and taxis. Place was clean, open, and comfortable. While it was not an issue for us, some find it difficult taking luggage up the stairs.
