My family of 2 adults and 2 small kids (ages 4 and 7) had a wonderful time at the farmhouse. The house is exactly as pictured and is clean, modern, charming, spacious and very well equipped. Clare and Ian couldn't have been better, more responsive or more thoughtful hosts. They thought of everything and included helpful information about the area, places to go, shop, eat etc. The house is so beautifully renovated - with many modern comforts yet they retained all the charms of the old farmhouse as well. We loved the wrap around porch, the screened in eating area, the big comfy sectional and large modern kitchen. The beds were all very very comfortable and the bedding was very new and clean. They had a lovely warm McCausland's blanket that inspired us to visit the mill (only about 25 minutes away). Our kids loved seeing the blankets being made and were so excited to pick their own. We came home with 3 of them! The location is as described - though I would say we had assumed from the photos that the house was on a hill overlooking the water - however its actually quite close to the road as well as another house and is on a more typical flat lot than. This doesn't take away from the property at all - its still lovely and peaceful, with a nice field and woods on 2 sides and an amazing view of the water and sunrise. The water is a very short, pleasant walk down the beautiful red dirt lane with very easy access to a tiny beach. I am not sure about swimming there but our kids loved looking for rocks and shells. The mosquitoes were very bad at this time (late August) but the screened in porch helped. The area is quite remote and very quiet. The little village has a couple nice restaurants, shop and liquor store. It's a good distance from the more touristy areas but really - pretty much everything is within a 1-2 hour drive and we took advantage of the opportunity to explore the western part of the island that many people overlook. We enjoyed visiting the neighbouring alpaca farm and took advantage of the beautiful drives. We highly recommend this property as well as these hosts. This was one of the best family vacations we've ever had. Thank you so much Clare and Ian!

Clare was amazing, the house was exactly as pictured. It was very clean and spacious. Our only complaint was entirely our fault, the location was not at all what we expected. The beach is unusable and the mosquitoes were abundant! There was a machine for catching mosquitoes but we must have been there for their peak season. There is very little around so bring food. Great spot for a family gathering or someone looks to truly get away.

The Farmhouse is in a quiet, off-the-beaten path location that overlooks the bay. We enjoyed the screened in porch for our meals—especially with the mosquitoes at night. The kitchen was very well equipped for prepping meals; and we appreciated the cooler for our day trips. It was a lovely place for a family vacation and we could have stayed longer.

This farmhouse is exactly as pictured online ! What you can't take in from pictures is how much natural light the house has ! The water view is perfect. The closeness to Summerside works well ! Awesome location !
