It was a great privilege to have been able to stay in this beautifully designed home, nestled into an old-growth forest, with large, lovely windows looking out from the bedrooms onto beautiful trees and ferns, and out onto a meadow that slopes away from the large and lovely back deck, to the Sol Duc River. How healing it was to be able to look out the windows of this lovely home, and see the beautiful trees and land in all directions - and hear the ducks by the river, and feel the gentle breezes. I felt as if the trees of the forest had taken me under their branches, for their healing protection. It is quite a magical space, and a great privilege to have been able to stay there. This lovely home is also located wonderfully close to beautiful parks and beaches: a great launching-off place for the Hoh Rain Forest, Rialto Beach, the Sol Duc hot springs, and so much else. I didn’t want to leave, and would love to return one day!

The house is in a wonderful location to enjoy all the best of the Olympic National Park, but the house setup needs more investment from the owners to justify the price point. The house is an easy drive to the Hoh River visitor center and to the Hiking trails along the coast. It’s situated in a beautiful location right on the Sol Duc river. It has a large yard, and we were lucky that the plentiful blackberry bushes in the back yard were ripe for picking. It’s surrounded by forest and beautiful greenery, and is private. For the furnishings, there were some niceties: the kitchen had a lot of conveniences left behind. (Ex: olive oil, hot cocoa, salt & pepper, sauces, pancake mix etc.). The kitchen had nice new appliances, and plenty of cookware. However, the house should really have some more furnishings and niceties, given the nightly price point. Example: there was only 1 couch (fits max 4 people) in the large living room of a 4 bedroom house. There were no bedside tables in the guest rooms, and sparse decorations. There were no coat hooks to hang up wet jackets upon entry. There’s no soap dish/ racks in the showers. There are only 2 chairs on the deck in the back yard. A larger tv would also be a bonus in the living room. The house is lovely, but for the price point, I think the house needs to have a bit more of an investment in the furnishings.

Great location. We saw a herd of elk from the back deck the first night. Lots of blackberries for pie. Had fun walking down the riverbed. Great base for Olympic peninsula adventures.

Positives- spacious, beautiful natural surroundings, good WiFi Negatives- mouse droppings on blankets, And mouse traps all over the house No comfortable place to sit in living room- One really old couch with no cushioning Freezer not working- walking to garage Smelly and inconvenient. Natural light is good but some window treatments would be welcome for privacy esp in bathroom Ultimately a place is judged on cleanliness and comfort. This place failed to live up to those basic criteria. These concerns were communicated to the host real time.

We absolutely loved staying at your house. The setting is so beautiful and it is close to wonderful hiking trails. The kitchen is well equipped, which is important for those of us who like to cook. We hope to return soon. Thanks so much!
