Campsite was absolutely great! Very private and clean! Savanna is also very helpful if you have any questions. The only negative is the actual drive to the campsite, as the road is very washed out and is a bit scary in a smaller 2 wheel drive car… there’s also not a lot of signage on the way to the campground, so it’s a bit tricky to find. All in all a great stay though !

We stayed in site #4 Tues-Friday in May 2023. Campsite is about 1 mile from the beginning of the unpaved Water Canyon Road. The CG is about 1/4 below the Squirrel Cyn TH and 1 mile below the Water Cyn TH. Lots of solar lights in the evenings. All the five sites have a new picnic table that aren’t in any of the online photos. The campground does not have water (jug fill up is easily available in Maxwell Park right by the start of Water Canyon Road) so be sure to bring the water you’ll need to camp. There’s lots of cactus in the campground so toddlers might need lots of attention. We had the campground mostly to ourselves and had a great experience; hiked Water Canyon one day (stout!), and rode MTBs in nearby Little Creek slickrock another day. Never saw Savanna but someone emptied our trash can while we we out so thank you. We stopped at the nearby Edge of the World brewery in Colorado City one afternoon and really enjoyed their hospitality. All in all, a very chill experience.
