Such a beautiful location and Simon was very clear about what to expect. This lovely house is remote and so please do listen to Simon when he says this is absolutely the place for an outdoors experience. There were eight of us and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, great walks on the beach, log fires, home cooking, and Sandy’s (venture west) boat trip to see the seals and white tailed eagles to name a few highlights of the week. A special part of the world for sure. Thank you Simon.

Such a beautiful location and house. We had such a wonderful time with friends, family and dogs. Swimming everyday at the beautiful beaches right on our doorstep and walking then coming back to an open fire. Who could ask for more. Loved it!!!

Me and my family, including 5 children (0-12yo) and one dog stayed at this lovely home for our summer holiday. Simon provided us with beautiful period property in an idyllic location, a short walk from kilmory beach. The house was just as described, and a perfect hub for exploring Argyll. A well equipped kitchen and ample lounging space made for a easy and enjoyable experience. Although isolated there is plenty to explore within an hour's drive, and if you keep your eyes peeled you'll see plenty of the native wildlife. In just one week as a family we saw whales, seals, dolphins, sea otters, beavers, adders, red squirrel, badgers and deer, all in the local vercinity. I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to get away from the city and immerse yourself in the Scottish wilderness (whilst also being able to cosy up to a log fire each night).

We have just returned having stayed with a group of friends. We had a mixed age group and we all LOVED it. The house worked brilliantly with quick access to the wonderful beach. Quiet and away from the madding crowd. Plenty of china so you were not waiting on the dishwasher to finish. A great sitting room for everyone to chill out in and a great lay out of the bedrooms and bathrooms. Simon was an excellent host and was very quick to answer any of our questions before we arrived. Full of good ideas for the locality and made us feel very welcome! We will surely be returning to such a beautiful house and spot!

This is a house specifically designed for making magical holiday memories. Particular highlights for us were the brilliantly well-equipped kitchen, the 2 minute walk to the white sands and clear waters of Kilmory Bay (where we spent most of our time with our wet-suited children playing in the water for hours) and the secure dog-proof garden which allowed our 'not entirely reliable around sheep' young dog to run free when we were at home. The house is enchanting and full of quirky original features including the built-in bunk beds, the slate larder in the kitchen and, my favourite, the points of the compass carved into the stairs on the top floor. It was everything we had hoped for and more. We echo the advice of a previous guest which is to do a big shop on your way - if there's room in your car. A mid-holiday trip to the Co-Op in Lochgilphead was a painful bump back into reality and had us racing back to our Arts & Crafts paradise on the beach as soon as we could!
