Great location. Facilities were good, pool and tennis courts are nice and maintained. Unit was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much The common rooms at Neptune house could use a refresh, that is my only criticism

Block island is great! But minus 1 star for so-so accommodations; minus 1 star for difficulty with host. pros: great location, has a pool, game room for rainy days, nice staff. cons: overall just not a comfortable space to hang out in. Bad couch, bad lighting, broken window shades, mold under couches, noisy, no privacy, right next to airport. No Hulu/Netflix. No kitchen basics like salt and pepper which makes cooking more difficult. As for issue with host - I booked the stay 5 months in advance and host told me 11 days before the trip that we needed to reschedule and depart a day early. Host was unaccommodating at first saying it wasn’t his fault (it was - he accepted the reservation!) and trying to tell us it was a good thing because we’d hit less traffic. Host at first refused to offer any discount in consideration for our inconvenience but then did relent and give us a discount. Still it was a big pain in the neck to replan my vacation at the last minute and it wasn’t the vacation I wanted. The sunniest day of the trip we spent in the car rather than chilling on the beach. All in all would definitely come back to block island but would not stay here again. Also I think you can get a cheaper rate from Neptune house booking direct with them.

We had a great stay at Roland’s place at Neptune House for our mini moon. The place is clean, comfortable, and beautiful. We often walked to town, or took taxis to more remote parts of the island. Excellent, friendly staff. And Roland was extremely helpful as we navigated our way out to the island after hurricane Henri. Highly recommend!
