This house is basic yet charming, with air conditioning and a welcoming host family. Charles was incredibly responsive and arranged transportation to the airport in the middle of the night, which was greatly appreciated. However, the location is a significant downside. Despite appearing close on the map, rough and closed roads make it difficult and time-consuming to reach. Shared taxi apps may accept the job, but they'll likely be extremely unhappy due to the significantly longer travel time and poor road conditions. As a result, private transportation arranged by Charles (20,000 TSH each way) becomes a necessary albeit slightly pricey option. I believe this crucial detail should be clearly disclosed on the Airbnb listing, with guests budgeting an additional 40,000 TSH for transportation.

Staying with Charles and his family was lovely. They cooked us delicious lunch and we also had an amazing Tanzanian dinner. Definitely would recommend this place if you’re 1- in need of a place to stay in-between flights or 2-comfortable with a more local experience. This is not a stay you get many places elsewhere, you feel like you’re just stepping into a family’s life and they are all so welcoming! You just have to be able to make yourself comfortable and you will have a wonderful stay.

Logement très propre chez l’habitant, locaux très accueillant avec proposition de repas en supplément. Ceux ci étaient excellent et typique local. Seul le petit déjeuner inclus était simple mais suffisant pour nous. La chambre ne correspondait pas à l’annonce car non disponible donc nous a proposé un dortoir avec salle de bain privée mais nous étions seuls donc cela ne nous a posé aucun problème. Communication sur service de navette à travailler car à notre arrivée à l’aéroport nous ne savions pas si quelqu’un venait nous chercher malgré nos messages à répétition. Nous avons été pris en charge au tout dernier moment (heureusement que le wifi existe). Mais mis à part ce léger incident tout a été très bien. Logement parfait pour un simple transit d’une nuit à dar es salaam.

Affordable and close to the airport. Charles prepared a nice dinner and it was great to meet other travelers at his home!

Charles makes the place! Stay here. Great meals, great price!!! Great communication, he arranged transfers! We will come back next time.
