Joined a group of friends to visit the National Cornbread Festival. This spot was the perfect place to relax at the end of a long day.

The place was beautiful and the hosts are very knowledgeable about such a gem of a house. I was very surprised by the amount of history you can touch. That said being a much older house there are some quirks like no central heating and creaky doors but for us those drawbacks were so superficial compared to the historical value. Will love to visit again!

Once i messaged host to see if property was available she said yes, just that the property had to be swept and mopped. Upon arrival, there was a note left on the door stating to call the house sitter and that there was no heating in the house. It was 30 degrees outside and only going to get colder. The kitchen sink had an issue spraying water everywhere. The fridge had beer inside and was dirty, also water was leaking from the fridge. They offered useless space heaters that you barely feel so i moved one to a room to have 2 where my elderly parents would have slept with an infant and that triggered the breaker twice! One room smelled of smoke as the house almost caught fire per the lady that gave us a walk through therefore leaving a smoke smell which is not good for someone like me with asthma. place is a disaster and Sarah and airbnb were no help in refunding my money as we left within 30 mins of being there. unfair that the host doesn’t return funds for an unsafe place to stay!

We had a big family meeting for holidays. Down home historical home country stay that was exactly what we were looking for. The home/property is pretty cool. We got to play in the woods and mountain hikes were great. The venue space was cool, but we weren’t using it. We enjoyed the outdoor spaces as much as the indoor.

Really great spot for a group trip at Sweeten's Cove. House was a historic civil era farmhouse.
