I had a great stay at Wendy's place. She is very friendly, chatty, and was often asking me whether everything was alright. The area is very close to the beach, so it was perfect for evening walks. There is a bus station right in front of the house and it takes about 15–20 minutes to the city center. The room was clean and bed was cozy to lay in. The host was usually working late and coming back home at around 9 PM. Since the room is located next to the kitchen there is quite a bit of noise coming in, but I didn't mind. Quite the opposite actually, as I was given delicious cupcakes for breakfast. I would definitely recommend Wendy's place if you are planning to staying in Edinburgh.

I had a great time spending my study abroad at Wendy’s flat! The area of Portobello is amazing with a beautiful promenade and beach, and also a not-so-touristy place with direct bus to the city centre. Wendy is a very open and welcoming host. She had many recommendations for sights supermarkets and so on. Additionally, she often baked delicious pastries and cakes for me to try. Very sweet and openminded person, even let me have my partner over for a week with relatively short notice. Although she sometimes cooked etc. during late at night (which sometimes could be disturbing) I never really had any problems with her! Fantastic host, really made me feel like I was a guest in her home. And the apartment has all you’ll ever need, including a great lounge with a stunning view of the sea. Perfect place for both long term and tourists I imagine. Thank you very much!
