Beware, don’t leave after hours. After checking in, we left around 4pm to go to an outing we had planned in Charlotte. We got back about 10:30pm & the gates to the property were closed. We never noticed the gates when we checked in, but now they were closed. & locked. There was a keypad to open it, but we were never given a code to open it. We called & texted the host, as well as the zoo phone number, & did not get a response. We had to park outside the gate and luckily found a way to squeeze through & walk to the cabin. My elderly mother who sometimes has a hard time walking due to medical reasons, was with us. Luckily she was able to make it to the cabin. The hosts never responded until early the next morning. Had we not been able to squeeze our body through the gate & walk to the cabin, we would have had to left and got a hotel. Plus my mother had a plane to catch in the morning, had we not gotten in, she would’ve missed her flight because all her belongings were inside the cabin.

This is my second time staying at the zoo, and it was perfect as always. The Tackle Box was perfect for my partner and I. It felt like we were right at home.
