Lakeview Lodge is a beautifully situated holiday home on a quiet site in the heart of the New Forest National Park. With a spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen all overlooking the spacious terrace and the ornamental lake, this is the perfect choice for families looking for an all-important relaxing break. With three generous bedrooms, master with en-suite and dressing area this is not your average lodge. There are various activities available on-site, shop, children’s play area, Ember café and bar, fishing lake, bike hire, segway sessions, and an activity and leisure programme (please note that the site activities and cafe are closed over the winter months). If you are searching for a bit of peace space and luxury, then Lakeview Lodge is a perfect choice. You may wish to simply enjoy the surroundings of the lodge, however if you do venture out you will not be short of places to explore. The New Forest National Park offers some fantastic walking and cycling trails and some fantastic village inns for a drink or two and a bite to eat, and the perfect place for some fresh air and exercise. If you are staying with children of a certain age, Paulton Park and Peppa Pig World is the perfect day out and is just a few miles from the lodge. If you are looking to head out for dinner, the very well-regarded Les Mirabelles restaurant is a little over a mile away (early booking is advised) or a more traditional village Inn, The Lamb Inn, is also just over a mile away. The stunning cathedral city of Salisbury is also well worth a visit while staying at Lakeside Lodge, with the iconic Neolithic stones of Stonehenge a sight to behold, a little north of Salisbury. If you long for a sandy beach and some fresh sea air, the sandy beaches of Mudeford and Bournemouth are a little over half an hour’s drive away and make the perfect day out for guests of all ages. Great stay thank you
A wonderful 4 night stay at Lakeview Lodge. We arrived to a beautifully spotless lodge, checked in seamlessly and had great communication with the host before and during the stay. The lodge was much bigger than we expected and accommodated 4 adults and a toddler with no issues. All the amenities you could need for a self catering stay were provided. The lodge was peaceful and private with a wonderful view over the lake. A short walk from the playpark and ember restaurant which served delicious pizzas. Would not hesitate to recommend and will absolutely consider visiting again in the near future.
Great location to explore the New Forest. The lodge was clean and tidy, spacious and as it appears in the listing. Seb was always responsive and easy to contact. Check in and check out were easy, and Seb sent clear instructions before our stay. You do have to send over a £150 security deposit by bank transfer, as described in the listing. We received ours back within hours of check-out, but something to keep in mind if you prefer not to make any transactions outside of the Airbnb ecosystem. Would definitely recommend and would be happy to stay again if exploring the area some more.
The cottage itself is very nice and modern and we had a good stay. What was more annoying was: - Having to send a 150 £ deposit via bank transfer ahead of the check-in. This is specified in the ad and I was refunded quickly post check-out, but this remains a hassle. Airbnb help centre is a bit ambiguous on that topic, not explaining clearly when this is allowed - The ad is managed by a company, they're the one sending the Airbnb messages, but they ask instead that you communicate directly with the owner via Email/direct messaging.There's no other choice - they just don't have the information you'll need to check-in. Again the whole point of Airbnb - in theory - is to centralise communication on their platform. - The checkout process is a bit cumbersome with a pretty detailed checklist to take care of. It would be good for the property manager to be equally thorough before check-in since the boiler was not configured correctly, effectively disabling heating (that was fixed quickly).
