Great stay it was very nice and cozy! Loved the guide book for things to do in the area!
My husband and I needed a place to stay for a nearby family wedding. The house was clean and had most amenities you need for a short visit. Do note - it has an AC unit inside the house that helps cool a bit, but if temps are up, the fans may be needed. Also, it does not have a washer or dryer, so plan to do laundry elsewhere. Overall, the accommodations satisfied our basic needs and the hosts were friendly and responsive.
I took my sister on a bucket list trip to visit our oldest brother. The house couldn’t have been better! We all loved the stay so much! We did have one person with a walker, but he was able to navigate the stairs outside with a little assistance. I would recommend anyone with serious mobility issues to choose a house with fewer stairs but we were all very happy. The guidebook provided excellent instructions and our host was always responsive via text and shared their contact info with me when they were going to have spotty cell service in case we needed anything. My SIL found something new everyday that she loved about the house. It was decorated beautifully! The hosts were also amazing when my BIL thought he left his tablet. My sister and I had been dropped off at the airport in MSP so we couldn’t assist but he eventually found it once he and the rest of the family returned to Iowa. There are a ton of really great restaurants in the area and we had a blast! Thanks again!!
Only thing we ran into was there was no large frying pan to cook with. We notified the host but planned to cook within the hour, the host responded the same day and asked if we needed one the next day but we declined their offer as we were already done cooking for our stay.
Great host and great place. Chose this for a relaxing post-Labor Day getaway and to check out the Mesabi Bike Trail. The house is every bit as nice as the pictures. Super relaxing and comfortable. Hard to choose between hanging out in the upstairs living area or the downstairs area - both were so inviting. So we did both of course. Bonus - there is a shed available where we were able to store our bikes so it was simply jump on the bikes and ride a few blocks to the trail access. Just a few minutes walk to Smoke on the Water restaurant which featured great pizzas. There was also entertainment there on the 2 different week nights we were there. Clearly a favorite place in the area. Also highly recommend the Forest Lake Restaurant in Grand Rapids. Excellent rib-eyes (our personal favorite) Had one small tv connection issue (user error, meaning me... not the tv) and the host came over within minutes to get it straightened out. We would definitely come back.
