I'm originally from Binghamton, NY and grew up spending my summers on Cayuga Lake. My family bought this property of multiple boathouses on the Seneca Canal in 1998 on Seneca Lake. I purchased it from them after my Dad passed away in 2017. I fell in love with Seneca Lake while visiting my family on weekends to train for my English Channel swim in 2014. It is the perfect lake for marathon swimming so we purchased our own cottage 5 mi up the western shore in Rock Stream as my training camp. In 2015 I became the first documented swimmer to swim all 9 swimable NY Finger Lakes in a swim season, with Seneca being my longest swim today at 37.9 mi and 24.5 hours. After my swim of the Finger Lakes, my goal was to host an open water swim event on Seneca Lake. Under our (Website hidden by Airbnb) site, we host the Finger Lakes Open Water Swim Festival each summer. All events are operating by Dogged Perseverance, Inc. a non profit we formed for these events and other fundraising solo marathon swims. The net proceeds benefit animal rescue and K9 charities. Our Seneca Canal property is referred to as Camp Dogged, as the net proceeds will benefit animal rescues charities and it is why we consider ourselves a dog friendly environment.
