This lodge is in a great location! The managers were very accomodating and even upgraded my husband and I to a larger cabin. We had a great stay with our dogs and will definitely visit in the future!

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. The place was as advertised and as we expected - very remote and rustic. About 5 or 8 miles around the lake on a dirt road that was a little steep and narrow in a few places, and past several other campgrounds and cabins with no trespassing signs prominently displayed. We were right next to the horses and our dogs and the horses got along fine - though we watched them. Very friendly and helpful staff. I was truly impressed with the very good state of maintenance of the very rustic 1950's furnishings in the cabin, including the metal floor shower pan and the porcelain combination stove and refrigerator. Only 4 electrical outlets, but we made do. The cabin was very small - this was OK. But the double bed mattress leaned into the middle and the bed kept rolling me into my wife in the night. I actually think it was the box spring or frame, as the mattress was nice and firm. So the bed that rolled me into the center would be my only significant complaint.

Cabin was small as stated but comfortable. It was warm at times but there is a small fan for circulation. The porch was good sized and a nice place to share morning coffee. Enjoyed the horses and appreciated the hiking tips!
