I had the perfect stay. The house is lovely and so comfortable and it had everything I needed. The location is just perfect for Island Bay and surrounding areas. Grace is definitely a fantastic host, she made me feel very welcome and kept in touch to make sure I had everything I needed.

Very clean, tidy, fresh and well looked after. I was initially concerned about the location and how noisy it may be as I live in a rural location, but my concerns where way off, it was extremely quiet and the travel time to the city took no time at all. Highly recommend.

Overall, the place pretty much matched the description. It’s a compact place walkable to most places in island bay, in very close proximity to the neighbouring houses. When we had issues Grace was fast to respond and remedy them. Our main complaint was that we were misled about the cost of increasing our stay from 2 to 4.5 weeks; the pricing was set such that there was an increasing discount depending on length of booking. We checked the price of 2 versus 4 weeks on the app and when booking for an initial 2 weeks, Grace initially said that our 4 week discount would be automatically applied when we extended. However when we went back to extend we found that the nightly price had increased, more than cancelling out the discount, which meant we were out of pocket by a significant amount. We found that there was no flexibility from Grace, despite us having just relocated to NZ with a new born, and Airbnb merely said we needed to resolve with the host as they were not responsible.
