From the moment we arrived at Shona's place, we knew we had stumbled upon a special hideaway for our adventure in the Scottish Highlands. Situated in greenery by the River Gloy, East Lodge was the cosy and inviting retreat we wanted, with easy access to Loch Lochy behind the cottage. The lodge itself was equipped with everything we could possibly need for our stay. It was a great base for exploring the Highlands. With Isle of Skye just 2 hours away, Glencoe a mere 40 minutes, Ben Nevis 20 minutes, and Inverness a little over an hour, we were perfectly situated. Despite encountering the quintessential Highland rain during some of our stay, we embraced the mantra that 'there's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing' which allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the enchanting and otherworldly beauty of the Highlands. Shona was very warm and responsive and we cannot recommend East Lodge enough!

Thank you for a lovely stay. Shona is a fab host and was very responsive and helpful with a couple of bits across our stay. The house is located in a great area to explore both the Cairngorms and the Ben Nevis range, as well as being within 30 minutes of decent amenities which was super handy. I will put the obvious but the road is noisy. Bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper!

Such a lovely home right in the countryside of the highlands. It was so lovely to enter into a warm and cozy home, that was spotless. Shona is a brilliant host, supplying all the basics, and ensuring that her home has a clean and fresh felling(lovely scented diffusers) throughout! Location was perfect for exploring the highlands, and perfect for family. Proximity to the main road was a plus as we were concerned about the risk of snow during our stay. However the road is rather busy and you can hear a lot of the traffic noise.

It's a lovely cottage, bright and spacious. Well placed for accessing lots of great outdoor areas. You can also just walk down by Loch Lochy. We had a great time in the snow on the Lochy Munros and enjoyed Loch Ossian. The weather became rather wild and it was nice of Matt to come and check on us.

A fantastic location to base yourself when exploring the Highlands of Scotland. The accommodation was wonderful, so much space, clean, and in beautiful surroundings. Can't recommend it enough and Shona was a great host.
