Had a wonderful stay in Walden Cottage. Mich couldn't let us stay in the Cranmore Cottage due to some weather damage and offered us her alternative place, which was very comfortable and had everything needed to make our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. a big thank you to Mich. Our dog had plenty of space to explore, and the nearby dog park was brilliant. The Village is lovely too, great walks on your doorsteps and the Nenthead Mines are well worth exploring. Despite the weather, we have a lovely peaceful stay. Absolutely recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay with our 3 young children and our family pet dog. The cottage was beautiful and homely… the kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything we needed. The log burner in the living room provided a cosy and warm stay even in the depths of winter. All the bedrooms and bathrooms were pristine and excellently presented. It was simply perfect for our post Christmas relaxing stay “off the grid” and we enjoyed just chilling out, relaxing and going for short walks in Nenthead and Alston with our dog. Would highly recommend a stay here and we will more than likely be heading back to stay here again sometime in the near future. Thanks so much for your kindness and flexibility to help make our stay feel extra special.

Our stay at Mitch's Cranmore House, lovingly dubbed Christmas House, was nothing short of enchanting. This amalgamation of four cottages is a true home away from home, providing everything imaginable, from well-equipped kitchens to cozy blankets. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were a delight, as the spacious kitchen allowed us to prepare a full feast for 5 adults and 3 children. The pet-friendly atmosphere made our dogs feel right at home, and the numerous snug spots were a hit. Surprisingly easy to keep running, the coal Aga added a warm touch, complemented by fire/log burners in every downstairs room. The bedrooms were both spacious and inviting. The village itself, adorned with walks, parks, and dog-friendly spaces, added the perfect backdrop to our festive getaway.

We've been to places that have been tolerant to dogs. However, Mich's place made our dogs feel absolutely welcome. It was home from home. Plenty of walks around, and the dogs got to meet the two horses at the bottom of the garden. I loved the challenge of the sold fuel aga. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay which had everything we needed, and more.

Mich was extremely responsive to our messages and enquiries! She accommodated a very last minute break away for us and on arrival there was easy check in, little welcome pack, & clear instructions with directions. the house was well laid out, furniture was comfortable & being dog friendly meant our 3 dogs made themselves right at home & loved laying in their bed in front of the fire. there was tea, coffee and sugar. a rare find in some holiday homes and a perfect start to a chilly arrival! Nenthead has lots to offer.. the mines, Hive cafe, model village, playground, lots of riverside walks, and lovely views, a little grocery store, bike shop... Alston is a 10 minute drive away. beds and bedding were extremely comfy! bedrooms very sizeable! only downside was of course its off grid but it was freezing on arrival. They do have heaters in the rooms but these were difficult to figure out but we did in the end, still house very cold downstairs. all in all, a great stay! thank you.
