Situated in the old market town of Kelso in the Scottish Borders, the flat is just off the cobbled square and within a short walk of the picturesque River Tweed. Offering spacious accommodation for 4 people in two bedrooms. A large kitchen/diner is well equipped with everything you need to prepare your own hearty meals, however Kelso has a good selection of restaurants, pubs and cafes. Convenient for the races, events at Springwood, beautiful countryside and just an hours drive from Edinburgh. Newly refurbished, but still retaining original sash windows and shutters, the flat consists of a large main bedroom with a king size bed and a second bedroom with a double bed. The large living room has ample seating and a large screen TV, with wifi available throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer along with oven and hob. There is also a table that seats four people. The bathroom has a powerful electric shower over the bath. There is a small courtyard shared with a second holiday flat that has a table with chairs. Downstairs in the entrance hall there is space to safely store bikes or fishing gear, please check with the owners.

This quite big flat is more than worth the money! Really spacious and beautiful and we felt right at home. Also a big and good-equiped kitchen. All in all we recommend this place!
Lovely spacious first floot flat above a coffee shop and just off the main square in Kelso. Location was perfect. There is a Co-op a couple of doors away for provisions and loads of cafes and places to eat nearby. Our fav olace to eat was Cafe U which is literally just across the road. The flat itself is very clean and spacious with high ceilings. The heating was easy to work out and beds were really comfy. Communication from Ken was great and he even provided an App with all the info you need for your stay. Would stay again.
Perfect location and just what we needed for a few days in Kelso. Ken had taken the trouble to advise us about the problems he’d had with the plumbing, which now seems sorted and did not impact on our stay at all. T
Had a great stay at Ken’s. Easy check in, beautiful flat. Clean and spacious. Flat is right in town with lots of cafes, shops and pubs a short walking distance away. Would stay again!

Kelso boasts a race course, regional show ground, swimming pool and curling rink. Floors Castle, home of the Duke of Roxburgh, the largest inhabited castle in Scotland is only a short walk along the banks of the River Tweed. The Tweed is world famous for salmon fishing in particular.
The town itself has numerous good restaurants, pubs and cafes, including some that are dog friendly. Drive a short distance to the picturesque towns of Melrose, Jedburgh and Lauder. Edinburgh is an hours drive away or take the Borders Railway from Tweedbank straight into Edinburgh Waverley station.
There is a Sainsbury's supermarket on the outskirts of the town which also has a petrol station. Tweedbank is 16 miles away (25 minutes drive) where you will find a park and ride facility for king to Edinburgh (parking is free).
Kelso is where the River Teviot joins the Tweed and there are plenty of riverside walks easily accessible from the centre of Kelso.

Janine and Ken moved up to the Scottish Borders from Essex in January 2014 having bought Cairns House, a converted church in Stichill,the previous year. We live in what was originally the church hall behind the church and share our home with a chocolate lab, Bronte and a siamese cat Ralph. Along with running Cairns House as a holiday let and recently adding Cairns Braw in Kelso town, both Janine and Ken enjoy being involved with the Stichill community, Janine also enjoys sewing and is learning upholstery and Ken volunteers as a puppy walker for assistance dogs . We enjoy welcoming new guests to our properties and are always very happy to suggest places to visit and recommend places to eat and drink. Still relatively new to the Borders we enjoy sharing the new places we find with our guests.
