The King Cottage is a fabulous place to stay up on a small hill overlooking the beach. The amenities are basic but was clean and there is everything you need there. It is owned/managed by a local backpackers that is a short walk (5 mins door to door) across the bay. This was perfect for us. The backpackers was vibey and had great food (free on Sunday's!) - we chatted to lots of interesting people there, yet the cottage itself was quite and peaceful with just the sound of the sea. The cottage could fit 6 people (with 2 in each double bed) and as such would be fantastic value. I got a great nights sleep and woke up to a fit a dog sat on the stoop. We had coffee together and looked out to see. What a lovely experience overall.

Lovely location with great views; very friendly staff. You are away from the main buildings and dormitories so can enjoy your own space (also ideal with kids) and join the backpacking crowd if you so wish. I appreciate the community development work and the effort to separate garbage and recycle. Cleanliness issue was addressed as soon as reported

Where do I start?? Coffee Shack. This is where you want to be when in Coffee Bay. We booked for 2 nights but simply had to extend an extra night. Hospitality at its best: Treated like kings, warm and friendly welcome from every staff member we greeted and the receptionists were very informative, easily reachable and always willing to make your stay an exceptional experience! We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and after a long drive a complimentary ice cold welcome beer was the most unexpected and oh so welcome! The King's House was fully equipped for self catering and most comfortable even though we never had to cook as the restaurant is reasonably priced and has wonderful food and great coffee!!! ( if you are here on a Sunday night you will also get a free meal for dinner!!) With sweeping views of the ocean and the beach, we never wanted to leave and we will definitely return to this piece of paradise!
