Really great stay at Swell Eco Lodge , the views are very beautiful of the ocean and walk away from the beach . The accommodation is beautiful and well designed , spacious kitchen and great staff members . Nomsa was really helpful and makes the most delicious Xhosa bread . Justin is very helpful and responds fast , really appreciate how available he was for us and to advise us on things to do and so much more . There is a chef at the location as well who makes great meals for the days you don’t want to cook . The area is so peaceful and relaxing . We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

This place is very beautiful and offers amazing views and friendly staff. The beds are very comfortable and the place is clean and neat. The staff was amazing in making food for us even though we didn’t plan in advance, it was truly appreciated! Things I hadn’t understood before going is that there is no door between the bedroom/toilet/shower. Also, the other reviews mentioning the drive was not kidding, it was a challenge even for us with a bakkie. I’d recommend you try to get there before it gets dark. All in all I’d say it’s a great place to relax and I’d recommend anybody that wants a remote and calm getaway.

It is a bumpy road to get there especially after a lot of rain but worth the drive. It is so peaceful and private. The locals are very friendly and all the kids want are sweets so bring along a packet or two. The accommodation was very comfortable with all the resources you will need for the weekend. The staff are very friendly. Thank you for the lovely stay, we will definitely be back soon.

The pictures and write up on AirBNB do not do Justice to this place. Do you want to know what it feels like to be the only person/ 2 people/ family on an entire beach? Book this place and find out. What a freaking place man. The stillness, remoteness and peace settle onto you and cleanse your soul. The full view of the milky way at night, far from all light pollution will make you feel like a kid again. The staff are super friendly, every villager waves at you. The village itself reminds me of what life was like in the early 90's in the rural areas... just an air of safety everywhere. We left our car open, left our stuff under our umbrellas on the beach, you don't have to look over your shoulder at all. Probably the best holiday I've had since 2015. Well worth the drive down the Dirt Roads to get there. Important TIP: Prepare your wife for the ride in, this ain't your usual run to Holiday Inn. So avoid noise and prepare her. My wife was complaining all the way in... and was singing praises of the Lodge not 24 hrs later. Its worth the drive in.... with that in mind You're better off in a Bakkie, SUV or "Cross" hatch with higher ground clearance. I got there in a 98 Nissan Sentra sedan, but don't be fooled. I've been driving since I was 14 and did a fair bit of racing in my time too, this drive is NOT for amateurs in a Sedan. There is a good chance you will slide off the road if you don't know what you're doing. If you must drive your sedan in ... Plan ahead if its raining check Google weather for the village and drive in ONLY when its dry. Also Search for the name of this lodge on Google Maps, Navigate to the road named after the Lodge. Or Uncle Google WILL put you on the wrong side of the river with another 45 mins to actually get there. WhatsApp the host and verify the final location on Google with her. I WILL DEF be returning with a bigger crowd. Big Thanks to Lisa Ann and her staff... pure magic :-)
