'Casa de Cima' is a traditional cottage with a garden to relax in, plunge pool to cool off in, set in authentic Algarve countryside. Surrounded by citrus groves, within cycling distance of beautiful Barril Beach. Unspoiled Tavira is a 10 minute drive. Pretty hill walks on the doorstep. The lovely Isle of Tavira, a jewel of the Ria Formosa, is a boat trip away. Eat fresh fish from the market fried in our outdoor kitchen! Parking & Wifi Filled with art and personal touches, our well equipped cottage is our winter home offered to guests over the summer. The cottage has air conditioning but its traditional thick walls keep it cool in the hotter months. The cottage is semi detached with an older Portuguese lady next door. She is pleased to say hello if you breakfast next to her adjoining patio. If you prefer to be completely private we opened our gorgeous ‘indoor/outdoors’ space for guests last year (2022) with traditionally tiled terraces leading down through an outdoor lounge/dining space towards a pretty garden. There are two cats who invited themselves to live on our terrace this winter 2022/3. They are not allowed in the house please! They have an automatic feeder/water in the cottage store so you do not have to interact with them if you do not like cats. Their names are Greg and Clem Fandango. They mostly sleep. The waterproof fabric on the outdoor furniture protects against cat fur. The garden has generous seating areas, dining under shade and the world’s cutest plunge pool which is a converted cisterna you are welcome to use. We use U.V. Light to clean this with as little chemicals as possible. We have replaced the mattresses on the beds this year and added more kitchen equipment also. There is plenty of parking.
