While initially famous for being the residence of Dalai Lama, Mcleodganj has long been synonymous with the backpacking culture of India. Fondly known as Little Lhasa because of the large Tibetan settlement here, Dharamkot is famous for housing cafes offering the most delicious dishes from around the world and the views of the mighty Dhauladhars.

From McLeod Ganj main square, take a tuk-tuk or a taxi towards upper Dharamkot till Phetti Pul. You will reach a small parking. From there, hike uphill for 200 metres and you will see the Zostel board.

If you're hiking to the hostel from Mcleod Ganj
Even though the location of Zostel is accurately marked, kindly refrain from relying on the directions to reach Zostel Dharamkot, as it suggests a longer route. For any directional queries, you may take assistance from the locals, using Heena Cafe as a reference.​ If referring to maps, put your first destination as Himalayan Tea Shop, and the second destination as Zostel to get correct navigation. We recommend you to park your cars in secured Mcleodganj parking (paid) so that you can travel hassle-free, as there is no parking space 1 km from the hostel.
Note: The car does not reach the hostel. However, there is a paid parking 100 meters from the hostel, with ~INR 200/night parking charges.
NOTE:
The final 200m stretch of road leading to Zostel Dharamkot requires everyone to hike till the hostel.
